my site got an amiga user :-)
« on: October 26, 2003, 06:23:45 PM »
heh heh, that's quite cool, i never imagined that my
site would get an amiga visitor, or even that yahoo would register it, isntead of unknown... I havn't even got a mac user, which is good :-D I mean it's not that suprising, i mean i've got it in my signature, but still... Lets get some1 with morph OS to come along and clicky. Oh and sorry about the banner at the top, will try and get rid of that soon...

These are the stats by the way...

Windows NT 5.1   78.22%
Windows 98   16.91%
Windows NT 5.0   3.92%
AmigaOS 3.9   0.95%

That's quite funny though, that yahoo havn't updated their databases, so that when a user's computer send them their info, it doesn't convert it to XP instead of nt 5.X but it still has the exact amiga version... i wonder if it would register Workbench 3.1
 :-P

You may have had more than one, many Amiga users spoof their browsers as IE or Mozilla, even many Opera users do that :-)

that was probably me.... I clicked on your link in your sig during that long help session... If you post your website as your signature on an amiga website you should expect to get amiga visitors....

acutally, i'd be quite interested to see how many users use their amiga's as their main computers... cause like i keep it in my spare room, to have some fun i mean play like k240 or another world from time to time, but it would be interesting to find out... also whether some people still use their old machines to regularly do things... (when i mean old i really mean "classic" i.e. 500, 500+, 600, 1200, 1000, 2000, etc...) :-)

im still using my A1200 for my everyday computing needs... My windows PC gets used for maybe an hour a week tops... whereas my amiga probably gets used for 35 hours+ a week... you can see more about my amiga at my website www.ryusworld.webhp.net.
I think you'll find theres a lot of us out there still using our classic amiga's as our day to day computers.

or you can check my site stats :)

http://www.sitemeter.com/default.asp?action=stats&site=sm4djnickx&report=19

or in short:

Operating Systems Tracking:
Windows NT - 54%
Windows 98 - 17%
Windows XP - 9%
Amiga - 8%
Unknows - 3%
Mac - 3%
Windows 2000 - 2%
MacPPC - 2%
Windows95 - 1%
MicrosoftOS - 1%

The question would be - what is MicrosoftOS? I guess it is IBrowse2.2 that spoofs as "Windows 75" :)

No it isn't.

Windows NT 4.0 = Windows NT 4
Windows NT 5.0 = Windows 2000
Windows NT 5.1 = Windows XP

Ibrowse on my website has 0.08% of the browser share :-)
