What is Jst?
« on: February 28, 2003, 09:57:58 AM »
Total beginner - I've set up WinUAE and installed Workbench ADFs (believe it or not, I DO have the original disks!). I've downloaded a HD version of Heimdall and got it to show in Workbench. When I try and run it I get a prompt saying that 'jst' can't be found. Theres a small file in the download called jst so I just copied this in with all the game files. What is 'jst' and where do I get it/put it? Any help would be appreciated :-?

Jst can be found on AMINET.DE , its a small tool that installs any NONDOS games , but an installer has to be made first (ofcourse) , jst normally require only ORGINAL versions of the games to work. , Jst is now ceased ...the project is long gone.

Put the JST file in C: (sys:C/)

Heimdall and 1300+ other amiga games installers can be found on WHDLOAD.DE , this is still alive and kicking and will be for a long time,
if you have alot of orginals then you will love WHD , it shares the same features as with jst but whdload is even better.

anyway both requires (normally) orginal games to work-install.

All installers can be found on the whd site . there should also be a link to jST somewhere on the site as the guy who made JST makes installers for wHD now (or have done for a long time).

JST and WHD is very popular on real AMIGA hw because of all the games that wont work or be installed on hd by itself (unlike UAE where u can just make a config and auto boot an aDF image) anyway many games wont like to be in ADF either unless u use cracks or simmilar 8hacked software.) , so...use WHDLOAd...it roxx and it keeps makin amiga the coolest machine ever :)

Whats up with all the hate!

Lempkee, this is great! I'll check out the sites you mention - I've got boxes of old Amiga games so I can feel a major project coming on!

Brilliant reply - really helpful - Thanks!
