Aparently Adobe made a booboo when shutting down the activation servers for CS2. These files are only for owners of CS2 and are not free to the general public. Seems the cat is out of the bag now though as the serials and direct links are widely available

Try to activate my CS2 over the web and it did not work, so I found a serial generator and did it myself.
Tried the link and it's not working anymore.

The direct file links are still working and plenty of bloggers published the serial numbers. You found a keygen that isn't riddled with malware? they must be getting sloppy!

Found it, downloading just in case for future reload. The keygen I used was recognized as virus, I'm not sure if it was real, but I used VirtualPC to generate the response key for my s/n.

Sorry, but what's the catch here?  Any why is one of the posters above using a Keygen?

I just downloaded Photoshop from the Adobe website linked to in the article mentioned by the original poster, used the serial number provided by Adobe on that site and everything ran fine - no registration required.

Am I missing something?

I am using Windows XP still.

I have an Original CD with a serial number, when you install it, it ask you for a serial number, then you need to connect to the Internet to Activate it, which gives you another serial number that you need to enter (or enters it automatically).
This is what the problem is, the Activation Server is taken off-line and no longer working. and w/o it the software is only usable for 30 days.
