Noted and ignored. So did Aorg get bought out by an advertising agency, or what?

I'd rather just have ad banners.

I always felt Skullcandy were more gimmick and less music. Could be wrong, though - never really tried.
Two things I do know though:
1) I hope this isn't the start of advertising through the forums. That'd be a really bad thing. "This post sponsored by Kill'em Weapon Systems". It reminds me of those really cheesy adverts prevalent in America in the 70's and 80's, where some famous bloke gets paid loads of money just to look at the camera and say "I smoke Laramie cigarettes because of the smooth, smooth flavour *cough* *hack*". Though they usually edited out the coughing, probably.
2) I'll stick to me Sennheisers thanks. Very good sound and good value headphones. I'm certainly not going to waste my very expensive Linn turntable on a pair of dodgy headphones.

Why all the bitching? If you don't want adverts then the alternative is to pay for the A.org service.

Think yourselves lucky, here in the UK we have to pay to own/use a TV even if we don't watch the TV channels that are funded by the annual fee :(

Even if one paid/donated to the kitty, one would have still seen this post shilling headphones...

I can't understand this.

Did Skull Candy approach A.Org and ask them to post advertisements?

Or do A.Org get paid for visits to Skull Candy generatred through this site.

These kind of weird advertisements in the form of recommendations are very Orwellian.

All in all a strange post.

As to headphones I use the ones that came with my phone until they break and I purchase a pair from the £0.99 store.  Skull Candy ones do look very cool though.

+1. I HATE advertisements disguised as something else and thought a.org would never go this low. Seems I was wrong.

For a long time.
Check "System"'s posting history: it's an advertising account for Vesalia.

I also happen to like cheese, but, I don't feel the need to post a thread stating that I recommend cheese as the snack most likely to enhance your enjoyment of OS4.

Yum cheese, Muenster is best or Mozzarella. I'm going to eat some cheese right now.

Not Skull Candy itself, there are brokers who handle that kind of stuff.

Both Aminet and amiga-news.de have been offered the same kind of deal ("put a link somewhere on your site, don't make it look like an advertisement"). I think in Aminet's case the offer was 150 USD per year or something like that - not sure about the exact amount.
