Any Linux should do.
I run Debian Lenny with KDE on my Eee 900.
Performance is good with 2Gb of RAM, even when I have a few server apps running.
As a comparison I have dual boot to WinXP Pro, and it does work ok, but performance wise it is not even near Debian.
