Well, it's a heck of a milestone. The question now is... "When is it done?" I'd say it means no more than 365 days before the 'real thing' is on the shelf, barring any new ridiculousness. :-P
It's already been getting Beta'd (while in turn, our definition of "Beta testing" is a little loose), and the walkthrough hints at what's left to be polished.
Now seems to be the point where anyone can try to finish up any drivers not yet written, and any software that really ought to be around for launch can be... er, started. (I'm not going to cross my fingers for Mozilla or Flash, but as an 'end user,' I don't know if anyone knows anything I don't.)
I've lost track of whether SNAP or Warp3D are even in the running for potential inclusion with point-0, and right now would be a good time to wonder if KMOS have any new requirements that all the other potato-holders didn't. Will it be the *pif* we've all been promised (no real marketing push until .2 at the least?), or does anyone have an excuse to hold back and try to make a bang?
...especially if everyone with hardware is entitled to a copy of the Preview up to and past the point it's worth calling a "Release." :-o
[The difference between a "Developer's Release" and a "Release" would seem to be "Don't complain too loudly, we already know!"]
