How to know what revision motherboard?
« on: May 03, 2020, 04:08:20 PM »
Greetings earthling, I am from Mars and I come to takeover.
Recently I bought a 2MB expansion for AMIGA500. For a correct installation I need to know what revision motherboard I have. How do I know?
To enable the function of 1MB of CHIP RAM, the Agnus 8372 is required. What is "Agnus 8372" Is it something I need to purchase?
My next stop is Venus.

Thank you very much. Do you also know what an AGNUS 8372 is?

Agnus is one of the chipsets most important one. the number tells you it is a revision from the Enhanced Chipset, so it is newer and better than the version from the Original Chipset.

Hello! See my former reactions. The installation guide says about "add 512KB of extra CHIP RAM", "Please, note to enable this function (1 MB of CHIP RAM), the Agnus 8372 is required,..."
What do I have to do?

You have to look inside what number is printed on the big square chip to be sure.

Thanks again.  It is a very helpful video.
Now I know. Thanks. I have to open the machine and check out. So I need the named chip. I have to look to see what AGNUS I have. Is that correct?
I bring you with my UFO free to the moon.
