Amiga.org Mission Statement
« on: March 09, 2003, 10:33:14 PM »
Considering the turmoil as of late, I thought it was about time I wrote this down in ones and zeroes.  Any questions, feel free to ask.

Amiga.org's mission statement (revised 3/9/03)
--------------
Amiga.org's mission is to provide support, encouragement, and information to the existing Classic Amiga community.

This includes with equality and without discrimination, but is not limited to any and all Amiga Operating systems, alternative Operating systems, emulators, and anything of demonstrated interest to the users of the Classic Amiga series of computers and the community to which it has evolved.

We will not discriminate for, or against any aforementioned alternative on the basis of friendship, advertising, and or personal political alliances.

Just keep the good work up, Wayne.
I guess I can only speak for myself, but: I love amiga.org :-)

IMHO it's a top-class community in every possible way.
Amiga: Too weird to live, too rare to die.

Here's hoping some of the more rabid fans move over to the new fan site.

Wayne keep up the good work...although I do think the mission statement leads to confusion as it says 'classic amiga' ... Amithlon/AROS/MOS/etc are not 'classic'.

Mips
They are all based on or emulate the AmigaOS 3.x environment.

mips,

Perhaps I will have to clarify.   I intended to say to provide information to classic Amiga users (as there currently are no others) for alternatives for the future, or somesuch.  Perhaps you're right.  I'll think about it.

I understand what you mean Wayne... It's not a 'big deal' but I think it just lends fuel to the arguments of an 'amiga(tm) only' site....

mips,

This has ALWAYS (since 1995) been our mission statement.  I found it while looking at some site designs from circa October 1995.  (edit: except for today :-) ) It has never changed.

Yessir, and I believe you'll find that it's covered here at Amiga.org, just like everything else.
