It has an ARM Cortex A8.  AmigaOS 4 runs on PPC.  How could they possibly work together?  (IOW, they can't run OS 4.)

More likely it runs MorphOS. It is a Genesi product.
Welcome Vanilla. To your continuing tour of duty. :-)

Why is this in the news section? Afaik these products are far from new, I even wonder if they are (still) being manufactured. A nice looking netbook thats completely silent sounds cool, altough it probably won't be much more usable than an average smartphone running linux on an 800mhz arm cpu..

I believe there is a new version of the Efika MX in the pipeline with better specs, was going to get one to tinker with but went for a Mele A1000 instead (which appears not to have moved since it was tracked at Shenzhen at the end of last month *sigh*).
The ARM port of AROS is being developed on the Efika smarttop model http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1oQVh5cjng

With faster ARM products available from other vendors I don't know why this is posted here.
Do we owe some sort of allegiance to Genesi for their past support of MorphOS?

It doesn't run MorphOS either - MorphOS, like AmigaOS, runs on PPCs.  It runs Linux, & I guess it probably runs Android too.

I wouldnt say "we" owe Genesi anything..but I give them huge kudos for supporting MorphOS and "the cause".  I like seeing new hardware from a past MorphOS supporter, I'm glad its not vapourware like most products nowadays that get posted on this site.

My only problem with netbooks is the damn 1024x600 resolution..dislike that very much.
