You can buy all the stuff you need to easily make C64 cartridges from ebay, it's usually the guys selling the fake cartridges who'll sell the stuff to make your own cartridges... :)

PS: I should know, I bought the bits'n'bobs to give it a try and it work perfectly... ;)

Hi,

You are correct sir, but then who is it to say that it is illegal, the machine is dead, the company who made it is dead, and the software companies who have developed for this machine have forgotten about it, plus their is a statue of limitations on software where after so many years it goes to the public domain.

so ends the tail of illegal software. (I think, therefore I am, an idiot of course)

From the auction:

Quote from: ebay pirate

Appears to be original but, I make no claim to that effect. Sold as-is. No return.

I think if you put this into Google translate you'd probably get:

"This is obviously a copy, if you can't see that up front then don't come crying to me!"

I've not seen all that many C64 disks but even I know that they mostly look like fakes....

Caveat Emptor!

If you voted "genuine," it's time to note that he is still going strong with dozens of the same disks with the questionable labels and white sleeves.  Give it another full month to see how many more such disks he has?

What difference does it make? If you think they're copies, don't buy them!

Is that what you say about all counterfeiters and bootleggers?

And he's still selling all the same software every week.  It has been years now.  He has also sold dozens of this bootleg cartridge.  Apparently this counterfeiting business is a good one:

This seller on eBay offers a variety of Amiga and C64 stuff.  Take a close look at the rare C64 disks that he sells.  He seems to have an endless supply of some rare titles.  No original disk sleeves??  You be the judge: Genuine or Fake?

The diagnostic cartridge looks a bit generic to me but then again I have never owned one so this is perhaps how they really were.  I should buy one.  I also need to realign a few 1541's I have :).

Not ALL, but I have to say that some of the best Rye whiskey I ever tasted was "bootlegged".

The HESMON cart is a counterfeit.  I know, because I own a real one with a real label and a real manual.  It appears that he simply uses a color printer and Avery-type labels.  How anyone would be duped into believing that this stuff is genuine? (see poll)

This really bothers you, doesn't it. You know there are some issues that are actually worth getting worked up about?

You're 2nd behind me on the number of posts in this thread.  At least I wasn't duped.
