WTB: A4000 Yellow LED (Hard Drive Activity).
« on: December 31, 2009, 06:19:10 PM »
Hey fellow forum users,

I have been after one of these yellow / orange hard drive access LED for the front of my A4k for a while now and hav'nt had much luck.
Any hunting an unused or unwanted replacement at some point would be a great help and I would be more then happy to cough up for the LED and the postage / shipping (though that should cost buttons).

Post here or give me a PM if you think you could offer any sort of help or support.

Thanks for looking.

this is just ordinary rectangle orange LED with two wires and connector.
wires and connector can be used from almost any pc case, you will just need to find somebody who will resolder new LED at the end of wires.
Soldering isn't a problem on something this simple. What is an issue is finding one the right size, correct wattage or ampage or whatever LED's are mesured by and where I can find the correct one. Thanks for the advice though Chain.

I may have made a topic like this before ages ago, if so im terribly sorry for draging it up again. I may have been side tracked with other jobs that needed doing instead of trying to fix this but I am determined to sort it out (A.D.D perhaps?).

I think I had been into Maplins ages ago (in the UK) about this but got little out of it.

Maplin are useless. Try Rapid Electronics. They have a much better range.
