;-) Some applications will happily use all of the processing power that you can throw at it. Ray tracing, for example. But the point is taken: for MOST applications, such as e-mail and word processing, even the hardware found in the charity thrift stores really is good enough. I've just today noticed PCs in my local Goodwill that are more powerful than the PC I'm using to post this message.
