lha and run files
« on: March 11, 2010, 05:11:09 PM »
Hi,

I'm just venturing back into the world of Amiga (having owned a 500 when I was very young) and am attempting to get an lha compression tool setup on my newly bought 500.

I found a tool online with a .run extension and can't figure out how to execute it.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Cheers :),

Danny

Welcome back! That's a self extracting archive. Just run it from the shell by typing in the filename.

Hi,

Thanks very much for replying. Much appreciated :).

Unfortunately when I try and run that file from the shell it tells me that:

"lha.run: file is not executable"

I'm currently running an Amiga emulator on the Mac (the Amiga I bought is yet to arrive) called E-UAE and moved the lha.run file into an emulated Amiga drive (just a directory on my Mac).

Would this perhaps be causing an issue?

Thanks,

Danny
