(SPACE.com) -- Better hurry, and bring along at least $6 million. That's the opening bid on eBay for crashing 22 pounds (10 kilograms) of whatever personal cargo you want to lob to the moon.

Bush : "Aha, I knew that sneaky no good saaadaaaam hid those damn weapons of massive destructification some how! No wonder he had all that money.

We better secure it. Would our landing craft work on the sea of tranquility?"

Why hide them on the moon?

"Putting weapons in earth orbit is not forbidden by any treaty or law"

And they would be a lot handier to use against bousiour imperialist empires or enemies of the state.... :-)

Yea, that`s bad news for moon`s enviroment...
don`t entirely agree with it...

That's downright obnoxious. The Earth's already pretty messed up polution-wise, no need to start on another planet! Especially one that can't repair the damage.

Hello
If NASA, ESA, China, Japan or private companies can create low cost, safe, reliable, dependable launch vehicle, perhaps someday Nuclear waste will be thrown into deep space or sun. Perhaps they can launch it from Bikini Island.

LOL
`reliable` means one in a hundred launches don`t make it...
And the half life is so great with the waste products that the would affect the whole northern hemisphere...

[My suggestion is to create a small black-hole so we can dump waste into that...]

What's the point in destroying waste, or sending it somewhere else? You just deplete Earth's resources. Every tonne of rubbish we send up there is a tonne of resources lost from Earth for good, never to be recycled.

Hell yea!

Keep it here, eventually it'll fold underneath the earths crust into the magma and separate out sorting itself out on it's own!

You don't even need to do that. Just bury it in the dirt, and nature will destroy or neutralise anything man has ever built. Even radioactives can be disposed of - the core of the earth is kept hot by them already, so it's not as if they're something we don't already have.

(Edit: except organochlorides. Earth will destroy these, but only once they've been floating around in our adipose tissues for a few hundred years or eating ozone.)
