The first boards from limited black edition of the new version of FastATA 4000 controllers are just available.

You can order your board in Elbox Online Stores at
FastATA 4000 MK-VII CF/SATA page for customers from the European Union,
FastATA 4000 MK-VII CF/SATA page for customers from other countries
or from Elbox distributors.

Is it actually a new version or is it just another production run with a different PCB colour?
(And don't get me wrong here! It's good Elbox still sells these cards)

Pretty lame to put CF and SATA in the title when it requires an IDE-SATA adapter :p

Indeed, judging by the picture, this controller has nothing to do with SATA...

I'm also interested in the changelog, or is the change from MK VI to VII only:
* color changed from green to black

:)

I saw on one of the links "Now with a new BootROM v9.0 compatible with OS 4.1" - not sure if that's a new feature?

Did you intend to imply that it comes with the needed adapters?  They're available, but, at an additional cost it appears.  Regardless, I ordered one for my 3000 so I can use some of the spare IDE drives I have lying around.

Package contents:
• Fast ATA 4000 MK-VII CF/SATA Zorro III card
• Floppy disk with AllegroCDFS, FastATA software pack and User's Manual
• 46-cm 80-wire ATA-66/100/133 cable
-/- A500 & ACA500 & ACA1233n -/- A500 Tower & VAMPiRE II 500+ -/- A2000 & BLiZZARD 2060 -/- A3000 & CYBERSTORM MKII 040 -/- A1200 & BLiZZARD 1230 MK IV -/- A1200 & BLiZZARD 1260 -/- A4000 & 3640 -/-

I meant that they have the required adapters for sale and actually at a fair price IMHO.  I'm also thinking of getting one for my A4000 but dopn't use IDE /SATA much with it as only my boot drive is on IDE but all other drives are powered by my CS-MKIII onboard scsi

I think it's about high time that Elbox made a proper SATA controller instead.

In an A3000, what would be a better option, the onboard SCSI with a SCSI-IDE adapter and CF or use this for CF?

thanks

Amiga 2000, 030 25mhz, 7mb ram, A2320,  SCSI2CD

Amiga 3000/030 25mhz, CF SCSI card

Amiga 4000/ 040 33mhz 274mb ram

Doing it that way would give you proper DMA instead of PIO.
