so assuming one *could* be/have-been crammed in to the already tight board design, you wouldn't lose analog functionality; you'd just need a fairly cheap adapter, available at any Staples or the like.)

Well, the black din connector next to the VGA looks suspiciously like an S-Video connector.  That could be a bonus for connecting to TV sets etc.

I'd like to put one of these inside an A1000...  that would be slick....

Hmm, wasn't there a company that put Mini-ITX motherboards in old cases, like the A1000's, old Atari consoles and stuff like that ...?
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

I wonder if the Radeon chip (any ideas as to which chipset they'd go with? My guess is the 7500) will have onboard memory (which I can't see on the photos) or shared memory? My guess is shared memory. Hopefully all these cut corners can bring the price of the motherboard, ram & CPU to around USD $300. If they can manage that then I can see a future for it (and in my future as well ;-) ).

I think Alan specifically mentioned the 7500 being at a good price point a while ago.  I wish it had at least the 9200 core onboard, but that would increase the price.  It would also increase performance though.

Laptop ram isn't that expensive when you take into account of the top flight PC stuff (Rambus and the ultra fast ddr type cost).

I'm actually impressed if I'm honest with myself. Damn you Eyetech, I may well end up buying one of these things if you ain't careful!!!!!!!!! ;-)

My missus is going to go spare when I point this to her... something along the lines of "I thought you weren't going to buy another amiga?"

I doubt very much however that should I get this board, it will ever see OS4 on it though.

All I need now is to build myself a Walker shell and the thing shall be complete!  :-o

Damn the lad who mentioned mini-itx.com, I almost bought one of the boards off of them. Would make a nice little bsd/linux box. £75 for a complete system.... insane!

RetroSystem

The picture on the front page shows somebody that many here might recognize. :-)
In fact, RetroSystem is run by somebody else many here might recognize - see the copyright at the bottom of the page. :-D

Toaster/Flyer), and A1XE with OS4pre

Oh, yeah, and this WinXP box with Lightwave 7.5

Very cool. I was thinking about buying this thing, but I might find this AmigaOne light more compelling if the price is right  ;-)

XBox on paper uses a Geforce4 chip, in reality this chip runs at the same speed as a Geforce2mx....

I'm not 100% certain but I think that the chip in the A1 is in the same ball park performance wise.

I'll have to go find some info on this to backup this though...

on with the show :-D

This would be my perfect upgrade path for my next Amiga system, pending the pricing for the board.  I'd be willing to pay no higher than $300 for the board with 64MB memory and processor (G3 or G4).  I'm not looking for heavy performance but rather something I can have to play with to get my Amiga fix.  Swap out the Atricia S for an Sa or P with or without OS4 and I'm all over this thing.

Now to start looking at deep flat panel monitors. :D

:pint:
I love the modern age world of this middle age crises America... all these SUVs driving around like there\\\'s gas to spare and then some.

Xbox is an example of what you can do with a x86 hw.., sell it for nothing with 3 games included and now they have a new deal...with 5 games and 2 controllers , but still people aint buying them..

why is ps2 the king ? ... not the price anyway!

anyway if the amigaone lite is priced within certain range (ie for the entry level user) then
i am pretty sure it will be a success..

cheers
