Naah. I bought my 64MB GeForce2 GTS card when they were new to the market, and it cost me a bomb. When top of the range newest technology cards come out, they are always ridiculously expensive.

OTOH, anyone thinking about pre-ordering at these prices needs his head examining. There is still no indication how long it will be before AOS4 comes out, and even on Linux, PPC XFree86 drivers for these cards will probably take a while to be released and mature. By then, the price is likely to drop a bit, so I advise everyone to wait until it makes more sense to buy them.

Don't be taken in by pre-ordering scams!

The question no one seems to want to answer is "what are the implications of having one PCI slot on the same bus as the AGP slot?". Can the AGP slot be used in x 2 mode with a PCI card installed and working in the PCI slot?

Every time questions like this come up Eyetech's response seems to be hostile and defensive, and rarely elucidating. Then again, maybe they just have an aversion to my name, so has anyone else got a specific and detailed answer to the above questions?
