You can't read dutch ??  ;-)

They don't tell much, just that the board is to different then the prototype, so they didn't have the time to install linux on it.. (The couldn't use the one that's installed on the proto..)

Yeah, I really hope that $#@! was too different from the retail version. I mean a "BIOS" that tells 3 PCI when i could see 4, which is not enough anyway. And a 500mhz CPU, wasn't the G3 suppose to be 600?

All these types of "errors" in the Amiga community will surely bring it even further more down. True facts are very important and I have always been a sceptic to the Amiga's monopol future.

But if I ever see a fully working A1 I will not be the last to buy it, I've always loved Amiga and I always will. But seems like Amiga Inc is heading back to the Commodore days.

Uh, sorry, the last was very off topic.

it's a 600MHz IBM 750CXe Design Revision DD2.4 :o) So it is the real processor :o)

You can look at this picture, to see the processor:
http://home-3.tiscali.nl/%7Eamiga/AmigaONE250402/A1-1.0a-PPC-MaiArticia.jpg

Here you can see that it's a PPC750CXEFP7013!

Then look at the IBM homepage, and you can see it's the real processor  :-D

The OpenFirmware wasn't correctly adjusted, the board should bee able to use all 4 PCI slots and the AGP slot at the same time  :-D

The processor "thing" should also bee a OpenFirmware "thing"  ;-)

Yup, and by going over the different product sheets - if the same is true for the DD2.4 as for the DD3.1 then the temperature that it can handle for operation is estimated to be within 0 degree centigrade to 105 degree centigrade.  ;-)

Cheers

The only difference with the retail version is that the jumpers which enable the Open Firmware (not BIOS) to recognise the config properly will be correctly set, and AFAIK the AMR riser will include ethernet, sound and modem connectors.

IF one looks at this picture

http://home-3.tiscali.nl/%7Eamiga/AmigaONE250402/DSC00020.JPG

Notice in this PPC based motherboard ; the south bridge chip (speculating) is VIA.

VIA based chipsets can be found in mainstream x86 motherboards such in MSI, Abit, Gigabtye, Tyran and 'etc'.

VIA will be happy to see another market being opened for them.

Just hope x86 VIA/SBlive/Gforce2 problems wouldn't translate to AmigaOS/PPC world.  ;-)
