Here is the boot screen and new logo with AMMX

Is it possible to disable that questionable looking bootscreen?

It's hardly the infamous Paradox cractro for IISSORR.
-
If any demo coders want to do intros for Apollo Team I'm sure Apollo team will make use of them. Imagine what is possible with the RTG and the Apollo specs.
I don't think the boot screen can swapped.
-
NEC Approved? :)
-
Getting closer to full MMU it seems. Man, can't wait for A1200/4000 versions.

What makes you say so? The "added MPU for finding illegal memory access" thing?
-
@Kolla
Yes.. Well, it's one step closer :)
-
I thought that FPU would be part of the Gold release. :/

It's just another argument for open source.
You either provide people with the functionality they want or the tools to provide that functionality for themselves.

You're not alone. It was too difficult for now. It might come after the chipset implementation.
-
Apollo team is hard at work on FPU as I type.

What, is Gunnar doing that too? I thought Gunnar was doing CPU (and FPU), not the entire SAGA thing as well.
-
I reckon if they are re-designing CPU's then implementing ECS / AGA in FPGA from all the available info out there should be possible. I mean ECS was done on MiniMIG and AGA was done for the MIST so why not...Given the pace they are moving at I'd say the future is bright!
-
the succession or priorities of the development are strange though. why not finish the cpu with the fpu as those units belong together anyway. and then turn to (s)aga as it is a completely different construction..
-
Isn't "Gold" the last release? Or other releases are planned?
-
Indeed, especially after the bragging about how awesomely fast the FPU would be, you would think it should be prioritized. But then again, maybe being able to play AGA games is more pressing from customers point of view.
-
I guess if they are planning a stand alone they gotta get on the ECS/ AGA stuff at some point.

Other releases are planned. Some may cost something. Gold release was the finallized instruction set.

Yeah, well... we have seen how much time getting stand alone boards out can take.
-
Has anyone tested these with Odamex, Strife, BOOM, or Quake?

Doom and Quake are tested by the team often. Quake runs rather slow due to the soft floating point math but Doom runs faster than an '060 would.

It's a good job that everyone who has ever owned an Amiga is willing to pay for every single piece of software they ever used & didn't look for ways to copy anything illegally. Wait......
-
@XDelusion How far did you get with your AB3D work using Odamex?
-
ShK shared a Vampire500 video using Arties Netsurf NoFPU build, while playing MP3. Pretty neat.

WOW! Vampire makes Amiga fun again :)
-
FPU please for 500/1200 version :hammer:
-
ShK has a Delfina, so he may have been playing the MP3 over that consuming almost no CPU load. Nice Netsurf demo though.

I got V600, Netsurf NoFPU and AmigaAMP, but no sound/musiccard. No slowdown while playing 320 kbps module at 44khz. The only times I hear choppy playback is when i resize the browserwindow.
No slowdown at other times like when I load pages or scroll up and down the screen.

"No slowdown" isn't the same thing as AmigaAMP consuming some 20-30% of the CPU normally, without offloading the MP3 decoding to Delfina, Prisma, etc.

It does! Since i have my vampire v2 600 i turn it on every day :)
And the latest netsurf build runs pretty nice also on silvercore 9.
@klx300r
FPU will come for all vampires, it's done when it's done :)

Google Vampire and Amiga, it will show. I signed up half a year ago and still no email that they are close to production :roflmao:
I will keep my good old 060 boards
-
@Midway
Large production batches of the V600 have finally started. First batch of 100 is being shipped and second batch is in process. The boards are being mostly pre-assembled now saving a lot of time.

Nice !
Thanks Greg. hope I get an email soon then:hammer:

both of those things are extremely hard to program and im not holding my breath for another 2 years for this support.
