Description: Fan added to the Voodoo 3 heatsink as the card by itself generates a lot of heat. The heatsink is very hot without the fan! I may try to overclock it slightly now. ;-)

| February 07, 2007, 12:34:53 AM At least I am. Near-infinite resolution is always better than 16-bit resolution. I have exceptional hearing, and I can usually tell if audio is digital (<=16 bit) or analog. I cannot distinguish 24bit or higher digital audio unless of course it's compressed in some other way. I can hear people sneaking up on me from great distances in loud environments too. It really scares them when I turn around because I hear them coming! I can hear the horizontal oscillator in a computer monitor in my basement from my second floor if its quiet in the house. I don't know about the Paula vs SB, but, maybe an Amiga with a Paula has a very different frequency response curve than a SoundBlaster. It would be interesting to see. |

| x56h34 Posts:2921 | April 23, 2004, 01:09:43 PM I've removed the Picasso IV from this setup (sold it on eBay) and now the cables have a bit more space between them. It's not as crowded as it seems from the pictures. I am looking into dumping the IDE CD drive and replacing it with a UW SCSI one, and maybe keep only the IDE burner for backups, and for regular usage have a total DMA environment (Power Flyer 4000 is not DMA capable, unfortunately). The red cables are for IDE/ATA devices and the red & white ribbon cable is for UW SCSI. |
