I'm getting old.
« on: February 10, 2014, 05:31:40 AM »
I'm getting old. This coming April i will turn 30 and my days of youthful adventures are about to come to an end :(

No more Wollomgambe canyoning in the blue mountains  :(
Surfing makes way for walking the dog on the beach :(
Hiking makes way for bush walking :(
Rock climbing makes way for bird watching :(
Camping makes way for motels :(
Time to sell my sports bike and buy an older persons bike (harley davidson) :(
Time to ditch my Mp3's to make way for vinyl cassettes :(
No more sex :(

It's all down hill from here i'm afraid :(
Even my cat doesn\'t like me.

I don't know how things work where you're from, man, but you shouldn't have issues with that until your 60s at the earliest...

No, I think he's resigned to the fact that as he hasn't partaken thus far it's unlikely he ever will.

Cheer up Kesa, there's still a decade before life begins. 30-38 was the best of times for me.

Personally, @ 53, I'm not resigned to taking it easy yet.
Although surfing in the land of the Great White Shark and the Salt Water Crocodile I would probably abstain from.

Thanks guys. Being serious though i'm happy turning 30. When i was 20 i was overweight, obsessed with doing nothing but playing Playstation, i smoked weed a lot, drank a lot, ate nothing but junk food, no exercise period.

At 30 i am very fit and active, not overweight, only play the occassional video game, don't drink much or smoke ever, eat healthy. I am younger at 30 than i was when i was 20 so turning 30 is actually pretty good.

Not sure about the sex thing though. I recently had several girlfriends who were about 10 years younger than me and too be honest without giving too much detail i will admit to noticing a wee bit of a drop off...

Lol TMI.

@Iggy. Apparently you're more likely to be killed by a falling coconut than a Great White. Certainly more likely to be killed by a wildly driving coke-nut in the US. Bet that don't stop you driving or riding.

Cheer up! 30 is a good age! You are still young enough to have fun, partying and be active because your body hasn't crapped out on you. But you are also old enough to be mature and responsible and it's ok to have a mortgage, dinner parties and to complain about the youths of today.

I'm turning 35 myself this year. After some life changing events this past year I have no idea what to do in the future. I feel old. My point is that age is just a state of mind. If you are happy where you are in life (you seem to have made good progresss since you were 20) and you know what you want to do you have nothing to worry about.

Do yourself a favour. Sit down and figure out where you want to be in say five years and go for it. If you are happy in life you will never feel old!

Maybe it's about time to start culling coconut trees?

We can't just go slaughtering endangered coconuts because people panic over the lies spread in all those killer-coconut movies!

For an Amiga fan you are a baby.  Commodore went belly up two decades ago...

Find one in your own age - In my experience, 30+ is when the ladies start realising what they're supposed to do with it. ;)

EDIT: Also, motels are better than camping, taking my previous statement into account.
