I had always heard sales were lukewarm at best but I guess they are selling better now?

I think the price reduction shows they are dumping stock :pint:

The Playbook is a really nice bit of hardware, if you don't mind the app store being rather limited in choice. For the price it can't be beaten, especially if you want a lot of storage.
RIM are selling them cheap to get a market and encourage developers, and get some foundations put down for their next generation BB10 operating system, which is really QNX with a tablet oriented UI.
I got a 64GB Playbook for around £130 earlier this year.
Actually, I got two, the first was nicked. Glad that it wasn't an iPad and £400 down the drain really.

Local telco/ISP was flogging them for $100 up here for some time. Even at that price no one wanted them, lol.
It's good hardware, but the OS just stinks and the problem is a lot deeper than just lack of apps. OS is sloppy and sluggish, crashy at best in my experience. Might not be bad if you installed Android on it though.
