Not the fastest PC on the market, comes with Linux. Might be a good AROS box when AROS is ready.

Makes you think doesn't it!
two words... Black and Troll :-)

Yes it actually does make me think "Black Troll" wonder what they are up to. We still have about a month to wait to find out, I think.

Honestly? I wouldn't give $9.00 for a Duron, let alone the other $190.

It looks like a fair deal, but doesn't appear to come with some things like a floppy or CD-ROM drive. I think for a couple of $$$ more you can get a faster AMD XP with some name brand parts, floppy, CD, etc.

well, if all I had was $199, I would go for something like this....however, I am generally tempted to notch it up just a wee bit.
the athlon xp is a bit long in the tooth, but, its at the sweeet spot for best performance/dollar. I got caught up in the 'mobile barton' overclocking craze myself...but I saved a bunch of money and have a fairly fast system...spent less than 500 total on my computer.

My dad got one of those to check out for a customer, came with Linare Linux, which is a modded redhat distro. Came with like a 30 gig HDD... geee can't remember if it had CDROM drive... it uses a small mobo though.... like, the case is huge for the size of the mobo.... mini atx or something, longer than it is wide....

says at their site that it does include a 52x cdrom drive.
