Parnet - Why wont my A1200 talk to my A4000!
« on: March 07, 2023, 12:15:42 PM »
Hi

Trying to set up Parnet, I have installed the software (V3.0) and updated the ParNET drive list on both machine and copied Node.rinfo to each drive.

Everything is ok when I click either boot.host or boot.Client except I get the below fail / issue and nothing works.

activating net icons - Not found

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Thanks again

Could be lots of things. An extreme is that the parallel port is broken or a faulty cable. I have an A4000 with a capacitor issue and the parallel isn't registering.

What I do is have a set of disks that I keep in a plastic sleeve with all the files that need to go in the respective drawers.

I trust you have checked that the files exist in the drawers on both machines and you uncommented the drive list by removing the semi-colon.

Here is a blog I made setting up Parnet which I always do manually. It's worth checking that each and every file is in the specified drawers.

Use as a check list. Good luck.
