Title: Perfect Paint
Post by: bradhansen1 on March 13, 2023, 12:12:41 AM
Hi All, Just downloaded PerfectPaint from Aminet. No install
program. When I launch it I get the startup screen and it ask me
to chose a "Screen Mode," when I click on the button to open the
requester nothing happens. If I try to click on go it says "Please
choose a screen mode." Any idea how I can resolve this issue. I am
runing OS3.2.1 on My Amiga A1200 TF1260, 128mgs of ram.
Appreciate any help I can get.

"Powerful painter for Gfx cards" is perhaps a hint? Or do you have a graphics card in your A1200?

EDIT: I tested PfPaint on the MiST...
V2.93 only lets me pick RTG modes, works fine and with 16bit 800x600 and 1024x768 P96 modes.
V1.2 also lets me pick native mode, and starts, but appears to be very buggy and hangs easily.

Right, Good get, thought that might be a hold up. I am using an MKIII graphics board, guess that doesn't count.
Thanks for the reply.

If you are referring to Indivision AGA mk3, then that is not a graphics card, it is a flicker fixer/scan doubler that just alters the video output of the original AGA chipset.

PerfectPaint wants high colour (15bit, 16bit) or true colour (24bit, 32bit) screen modes, and for that you need RTG, that is the Picasso96 or CyberGraphX software, with supported graphics card hardware.
