Amiga Hardware Issues and discussion / Re: Amiga Demos on my A1200

Do they run without whdload? Which demos are these?

Think of the T-s as little antennas, and the 50 ohm cable is the “ether”, and the terminators in the ends are to ensure signals are terminated at end of cable, and not reflected back to the “ether”.

You need these:

install a "T" on the Ariadne and one on the media converter. connect the cable to one side of the "T" on Ariadne and the converter. The other open end of the "T"s  get a terminator like this:

Wouldn't it be easier to solder in a new jack and keep using Rj45 than all this? Not sure of the style of jack you need but take a look here:

Thanks for sorting everything out for me; everything is ordered, and I'll keep you posted about the progress. Regarding soldering in a new jack, I appreciate your help and thoughts. I'll absolutely consider desoldering the existing jack and replacing it ("how hard can it be?"). Before I venture into unchartered waters, I'd like to know for sure that the card itself is actually working and that the only thing that needs fixing is the RJ45 socket. That's why I think trying out the BNC jack seems like a good idea. Keep your fingers crossed for me; I might need it! 🙂

Amiga Hardware Issues and discussion / Re: 3.2.2 upgraded Roms
« Last post by Jope on August 30, 2023, 01:14:55 PM »
You don't need the 1260 specific ROM with a PiStorm. It is most likely for the TF1260 and contains ehide.device.

You should use the A1200 ROM image from the 3.2.2.1 update package. Put that image in the correct place on your SD card and specify it in your PiStorm or emu68 config.

General chat about Amiga topics / Re: What Amiga branded merchandise would you buy?
« Last post by nbache on August 30, 2023, 10:21:03 AM »
Hmm, when I read:

Some plushs with famous Amiga characters would be nice, alongside the boing ball.

- I got images in my mind of plush Dave Haynies and Jay Miners - or even Bill McEwens.

Not sure what to make of those thoughts ...

Best regards,

Niels

I meant Ivana Knoll obviously!
