I need to replace my old Pentium Core Duo. Anything good out there from AMD? Something that can run Elite Dangerous and other heavy stuff?
Need some input guys, Thanks .

AMD Ryzen CPUs are putting a good hurting on Intel while they fumble.
Look into a Ryzen 1600 or 1800. The new 3000 series Ryzens will be out later this coming Spring. Say tuned for CES announcements.
You can upgrade from there with a later 2000 or 3000 series in the same socket.

Yep Ryzens are good stuff..  Intel still holds the absolute fastest speeds but the Ryzens are sometimes as muchj as half the cost of the Intels and are close enough performance wise. (More than enough for EliteDangerous)
I love the new Ryzens. Best bang for the buck in my mind...
