excellent. thanks. i really would prefer PCMCIA anyway because i can then use the internet. in fact, there is a list of things i need:

- PCMCIA card :P
- 3.1 ROMS
 - 3.5 OS (cannot really afford 3.9/4.0 ***1)
- CD DRIVE (probo use my PC one though)
 - a FEW 3.5" to 2.5" IDE cables!

***1 think i will be ok with 3.5?

A3040/25 AmigaOS 3.9
A1260BPPC AmigaOS 3.9/4.0
Sam440ep AmigaOS 4.1.2
PegasosII/G3 AmigaOS 4.1.2/MorphOS 2.7/Debian 5.0.7/SUSE 11.1

Long Live Amiga

If i am going to have bugs on my system,
at least let me keep the latest versions.

All very well but what if your PC only has usb ports (laptop, no serial)?  I've been looking for a circuit diagram for a nul-modem cable from 25-pin D socket (A500 Serial) to USB.
Am I daft?

ok. my PCMCIA card is working fine!!!

only, a problem - some files wont copy from PC to Amiga: i contacted Paul Williams who sent me the card and he will be getting back.... he said some FTP programs are to blame (maybe because of name conventions and stuff)

check this out though: readme.pp (ppp or something) would copy.

but when i tried to copy whdload (the command file) it wouldnt - OBJECT NOT FOUND and then network cuts off

(i was using babyftp and quick'n'easy)

anyone have this problem before?

its okay. everything works. babyftp is not a great ftp for pc. whilst quick'n'easy with a combination of Filer (on the amiga) makes everything fine. everything works well.

everything is working great.

instead of using adf2disk i use something called tracksaver which is the best tool ever for adf to disk or vice versa!

woah things are going so well. this pcmcia card is the best!
