LigandFit for Amiga ?
« on: December 31, 2004, 11:32:09 AM »
I just noticed that we have a Seti@home client over the left.

Is there a LiganFit (cancer research) client for Amiga (preferably Os4 to utilise Altivec) perchance ?

did a quick search, and some forums state there is one in existence, but I couldn't find any link to any client at all...

Hmm..

I just  thought it would be MUCH better utilising cpu cycles on a worthwhile project rather than wasting em DnetC

I agree, Did you notice if they had the source code available?
A port might be possible. If you excluded the cool atomic screen saver,
the rest of the client could be ported more easily I bet.

My sentiments exactly.

My Athlon 64 3200+ (the plus sign indicates it has double the on die cache (1MB)) rattles through shed loads of proteins as it's switched on 24/7.

Would be nice to see an Amiga version. Pref 68k then it'd benefit from the JIT re-compilers on UAE/Amithlon/MorphOS.

Um... I think an Amiga version would actually hold back the project... I doubt the Amiga could to one protein test While your lovely A64 gets through a billion.
