Title: Nostalga trip
Post by: on February 19, 2006, 05:58:40 PM
Hi peeps. I was sitting down the other day playing with my Sony PSP. And for a while I was thinking what a shame that the Amiga did not develop, as this smart handhelp could have had Amiga written on it and not Sony. Anyhow a rush of nostalgia hit me, and I began to wonder what an Amiga demo would look like on the PSP. So out comes Winuae, in goes Jesus on E's and Nine Fingers (followed by several hours of swearing about compression types and file sizes). Finally I copy the vids to the PSP. Wow, I have portable Amiga demos  :-o

Only trouble is, it now makes me feel even worse that the PSP has Sony and not Amiga written on it. What a loss to the world  :boohoo:

Regards, Bubble.   :-D

I sometimes think what would it be like if Amiga was a success in the computing industry.  Everyone would be Using Amiga and it would be Windows that would be on the struggle.  :-)

I know its a shame that it doesn't say Amiga instead.  Either way, as long as you own an Amiga, things should be ok.  :-)

Hi Motorollin, thanx for the link. Only prob is that the V2.00 PSP I ordered arrived with V2.01 AAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!  :madashell:

So I cant run homebrew yet  :pissed:

I will wait tho, unlike the Amiga the day of V2.01 retribution will come  :-D

I take it the reason you can't run homebrew on V2.01 is because they have prevented it in that version? If so then don't worry - everything is hackable :-)

Is the firmware flashable on the PSP? I've never used one so I wouldn't know. If it is then couldn't you flash the V2.00 firmware on to it?

Yup it is flash upgradeable.... but V2.01+ prevents downgrading even using the official Sony upgrades  :madashell:

But it will be hacked. A GTA hack is already partially there

... Hate to say it, but it doesnt seem to matter anymore. The demos were hardcore cool back in they day before 3d hardware. I could write demos that blow away futre crews second reality using openGL without trying ( minus awsome purple motion tracks).

I apologise in advance for the flaming i will receive for this post.
