I started a topic a couple of weeks back on getting my two Amiga's ready for sale -- they are now ready so I'm starting a new topic. First post is what I have -- second post will be how I propose to sell it -- third post will be pictures. I'm posting now even though I don't have all the details as this project is stalling and I want to keep it going and get it over with.
A4000 -- Rev 6 -- NTSC
Apollo 060 50MHz
65MB Fast RAM + 2MB of Chip RAM (4 sticks of RAM)
Cybervision 64/3D
Spitfire DKB 2296 SCSI controller
Two HDs -- one is stock IDE other is a Quantum Fireball SCSI drive
A2065 Networking Card
Kickstart 39.106 Workbench 40.42 Exec 39.47
A520
Status of A4000
Boots to Workbench on a standard monitor though the VGA output on the Cybervision. When it boots up there is a diskblock error -- you press cancel and computer boots fine and seems to have no additional issues.
Memory: RAM is 4 sticks -- 2 on the Apollo card and 2 on the main motherboard. I suspect that the configuration is 32/32 on the Apollo card and two half meg sticks on the mainboard. If memory serves me right the Apollo works better if there is at least a meg of RAM on the mainboard. I found a memory test and ran it -- said everything is good.
Harddrives: I tested the SCSI drive using ABtools and it has no errors. The IDE drive has an error. I've used the computer for a few hours and there was no problems launching any program on the SCSI drive. The IDE drive I was able to launch every program I tried except one. As far as I can tell you'll get a bad block at boot and a bad block if you try to launch SysSpeed -- all other programs I tried worked fine. Drive has at least two probably three or four programs for fixing errors. Buyer can try to fix it but I won't as it works now and I don't want to mess with that.
The SCSI drive is connected to the Spitfire -- the Apollo also has a SCSI interface. Reason for that was that I added SCSI before I added the 060. As far as I know you should be able to just removed the Spitfire and use the Apollo for your SCSI drive.
I also have a 38GB Maxtor IDE drive -- not from the Amiga but it is a IDE drive that I know is in decent shape. Don't know if it can be used on an Amiga because of the size but happy to throw it in at buyers request.
Software: The computer has a lot of software but no disks for any of it. Stuff that is pre-installed Aladin4D, PageStream3,FinalWriter,Term,HTML Heaven, Voodoo, AWeb3T, Deluxe Paint V, Art Expression, Barfly,Turbo Calc, FinalCalc, Proper Grammer, Alpha Spell, ImageFx3 Art Effects 2, Photogenics, Fusion, Amiback2, AbTools, Quarterback, Quarterback Tools, Read3Dv3, PixPro2, CrossDOS, CrossMAC, plus some more but I figure all this is probably available online for free since the IP protection must have expired by now.
Everything except the system related software is on the SCSI drive. Everything I tried worked -- I tried about 40% of the software.
Keyboard and Mouse:I opened FinalWriter and pressed every key and they all work. The left Amiga key requires an extra hard press but it works. The mouse moves the pointer and the right button works but the left does not.
Battery Damage: The computer has no battery damage. The original battery is still in the computer -- I was going to break it off then found a tutorial on how to remove it properly so was doing to do that but then life interfered. Anyway it has no leaked at all yet. Buyer can request I break or cut it off and I'll happily do it but I'm not willing to remove the entire motherboard to remove it properly. If you want to remove it properly you can do it upon receiving the computer. Figure if it hasn't leaked in all these years it can go another week.
Floppy Drive: Doesn't seem to work
Network Card: I have no way of testing this. Was working when last used.
A520 Not needed as the computer boots using VGA output but included for dealing with future issues. Computer wouldn't originally boot until I removed and reset the RAM. I used the A520 to connect the A4000 to my Dell 3008WFP. Composite input on a monitor is not super common but a lot easier to find than a monitor that syncs to 15. I've used it and it works fine.
The HD light works but the Power light seems to be burnt out. Other than that everything else seems to work.
I am under the impression that the computer will not work if you remove the Apollo card. My understanding is that the original 040 is no longer present. If someone wanted to remove the Apollo they would need to find an 040 to install.
Currently it includes some manuals and the Cybervision and Apollo floppy disks -- I have all the Amiga manuals but still looking for the rest. If I don't find them before shipping will mail them at a later date. The same for the WB disks in the white cardboard folding thing. I know I have them just not sure where.
------------------
A3000 I'll give a more detailed write-up hopefully tonight. It boots without issue and since it has VGA output there is no monitor problems.
The 040 is not an expansion card. It was a custom mod that the store I bought it from did. My understanding is that they took the 040 from my A4000 and installed it in the A3000 while still leaving the original 030 in place. The way it was explained to me at the time was that the speed of the 040 allowed it to intercept all the signals and the 030 would just be unaware that anything was going on. I had the computer in full operation for several years with no issues. In theory I think this would be reversible but this is just speculation as I didn't do the mod and this paragraph is pretty much my complete knowledge on the subject.
It has a A2065 Networking Card and a PhonePak. If you have no need for the PhonePak then let me know and I'll try to find it a good home -- I realize it is basically worthless. I have no way of testing either card but the PhonePak software starts and doesn't report any errors.
I believe the motherboard is Rev 7 but I'll have to check again.
The floppy drive works.
Other than the PhonePak software there does not appear to be anything else on the harddrive.
There doesn't appear to be any battery damage (assuming a blue version that looks a lot like the A4000's red battery is what I am looking for). Same as the A4000 with respect to how to proceed with the battery.
No manuals or although I have some Workbrench floppies -- seems like two different versions.
I'll give more details later on the A3000.
--------
Everything else Amiga related I have is free if you pay the shipping. The person who buys the computers gets first dibs on anything
1084S monitor -- dead. If anyone things they can fix it or needs it for parts
Those Amiga to VGA silver things -- 2 of them.
DigiView Gold (haven't located it yet but I know I have one)
A decent amount of floppies (probably 150-200) no idea on the state of them.
Anything else I find I'll add but I don't think there is much except maybe cables
Joystick -- it worked fine when I last used it. It is that red and black one that everyone had. I think the brand started with a W -- Wico? Waco?

Interested !

Four people contacted me by PM expressing interest -- I couldn't decide on how I should pick between them so I finally decided on starting a topic and having people PM me their offer. If this is against the rules let me know and I'll figure something else out.
Anyone can bid but the original four will get a 10% bonus so new bidders would have to outbid them by at least 10%. Highest offer by Wednesday gets the computers.
I have a minimum in mind. If the minimum is not met I'll list them elsewhere but I don't really see that happening as I think my minimum is fair.
Shipping is at the buyer's expense and risk. I'm located in Ottawa Ontario -- I can ship out of upstate New York as I'm there frequently. I'll obviously overpack even though that increases shipping I think it is worth it.
PaymentPaypal for States or EFT for Canadians.
I've done pretty much everything I plan to do for the A4000. I will do more for the A3000. Basically I've given as much information as I have and been as accurate as I can be given my limited knowledge. Am happy to do anything easy to answer any additional questions but nothing too time consuming or which requires taking anything apart.
Obviously the computers are sold as is. They work but they are 20 year old computers so there is no warranty or anything of that nature.

Pictures are all A4000 except the ones that are obviously the A3000. Will take pictures of A3000 inside tonight. Sorry about size and quality.

It would be nice if you put out a price instead of a secret PM bidding war. You may as well just put it on ebay if you plan to do this. Playing silly games is a load of garbage and just turns off anyone interested because of games.

Sorry if it was interpreted that way but it wasn't meant to be a game. I had four people interested PM and my original though was first person should get them but then one of the later PMs had such a good use for them that I though well he should get them. I just didn't want to have to think about it. If people find this offensive then I can just post a price tonight. I thought this would be fairer since it negates the luck of just happening to be the first person interested who happened to be online.

IMHO if you want to get the best money for them, put them on ebay. If there's a minimum amount of $$ you're willing to accept, post them with a reserve price. You can always link your auctions back to the threads here for folks that want more info.
But if you genuinely care about who's going to be getting the system and what they do with it (which it seems like you do), and that it's not going to go to some hoarder or collector who will never even use them, keep them for sale on here. And kudos to you for that! :)

This RAM was also with the Amigas. I don't know if it is Amiga RAM and my first guess is no as it appears to be old DDR RAM but the Amiga had a lot of RAM expansion cards so not sure if any of them took this kind of RAM. Anyway if useful it is free if you pay the shipping.

All I did tonight was test the A3000 keyboard (all keys work) and confirm that there are no personal files I need to delete. I'm too tired to think about how to rectify my faux pas so I'll worry about it tomorrow.

I wouldnt add much weight to someone sending you a message about how great they will be used. Search some of my old threads about selling my A3000 several years ago to someone I thought was being sold the dream machine they always wanted. I let it go for a ridiculous price because of that and he resold it part by part for a huge profit on ebay right after he got it.
Just sell it to the first offer you got or ebay it for the most profit. I can tell you if you are looking at getting the most money Ebay will do it. Just include a lot of pictures of it working and everything included.

man some people have no shame:(

I'm not so naive as to not think that is a possibility but I'd prefer to think that won't be the outcome and I'll never check so I won't know if I'm wrong. I'll get to keep believing they went to a good home and that has some value to me.
There is also the issue of time and effort. This way things should be settled tonight -- deal with payment and packaging tomorrow -- ship by the weekend -- done and I don't have to think about this anymore. With eBay -- I've never sold anything on their site and I'm super busy and not keen on adding new things to my life even if they are ridiculously simple. I also figure it would drag this on for at least a few more weeks and I rather just have it over with. Plus there obviously has to be some kind of seller fee and if eBay fees are anything like Amazon merchant fees that would narrow the difference considerably.
If the price was way too low I'd consider going with AmiBay or eBay-- and the initial offers were making me seriously consider that route-- but we've hit a price where I know I could definitely do better but it is unclear if it would justify the time and effort required. I mean I did glance at AmiBay prices so I have a general idea of what stuff sells for -- or at least what it sells for in Europe.
