What classic non-Amiga games would you like to see ported?
« on: February 11, 2021, 02:57:41 PM »
Following the news that the original Metal Gear (the MSX2 one, not Metal Gear Solid the 3D one) is being ported to Amiga, so reports say (I don't know how true they are), and also after seeing that guy on YouTube explain how he would have ported Street Fighter 2 to Amiga and done it better than the SNES, what other classic 80s/90s games that were never ported to Amiga would you like to see done now to fill out the holes in the back catalog?

  • Sonic the Hedgehog is an obvious one after the famous tech demo that 'proved' it could probably be done.
  • A complete SF2 port using the techniques described would be amazing too. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33kH9DdNznA
  • Kojima's Snatcher would also be a great choice since we're talking MSX2 ports.

Ah well those first 3 you can play in ScummVM, admittedly not on a stock classic Amiga. Speaking of which, I'm excited that Ultima 7 and hopefully eventually Martian Dream will be playable. Also going to give Westwood's Blade Runner a try on my Sam...

When Puzzle Bobble was all the rage, it would have been great to see an official version and I'm sure the Amiga was more than capable of running it.

I also can't find official verison of things like PacMan, Space Invaders etc. There are clones but thery all have slight variations or enhancments.

It would also be nice to see re-works of some of the arcade conversions which WERE released but were poorly converted like Turbo Outrun.

Some more of the original Command and Conquer titles would be welcome too.

yeah. still, there a lot of similar games to outrun, like Lotus.
It would be great to have those Command and conquer with online multiplayer option.

I'd like to also see 'incredible machine' port and 'Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee'.

Theme Hospital would be welcome. Although you are looking at quite a large amount of RAM to run it (bigger than 8MB of fast RAM, anyway).

Phantasie 2 (& ideally 4) would plug the gaps in the series on the Amiga.

I'd love to see the following games ported:

- Knightmare (not the one from Mindscape which is already on the Amiga, but the one from Konami) (MSX)
- Salamander (MSX)
- Blow-Up (MSX)
- Monkey Island 3 (PC)
- Jones in the Fast Lane (PC)
- WarCraft (PC)
- Epic Pinball (PC)
- Command & Conquer (PC)
- Red Alert (PC)

Would be cool if there were more pinball titles on the Amiga, so I'd be very happy to see Epic Pinball (or one of the other DOS pinball titles) ported. 8)
