Post by: amigasociety on June 21, 2019, 09:36:39 PM
Posted a new video today of a 15 minute walk around of my AmigaOne X5K.

Hope you enjoy my little slice of AmigaOne heaven!

Hey TJ (Hope that's okay) Loved the video.  Thanks for creating.
Especially liked the 2 Species in the foreground there (Original and a 128K). Sooo Cool.

A question on OS 4.1 on the x5000.  Does it have integrated OS-Hardware Sleep management.  IE will it turn off Ethernet/Video/HD and go into sleep nicely and of course wake up from sleep the same (nicely).

Cheers and thanks again, I don't think that office was messy.

Gertsy, I don't believe Amiga OS or the X5K itself at this point has any adjustable sleep management, nor do I know if something like that is being worked on by the powers to be.  At this point I have my screen blanker come on.... and the TV I use has its own built in screen saver too so when it must detect no use the TVs screen saver will kick on and after that, the TV actually shuts off.  I have to then turn my TV back on to get video again. Not sure how it would behave with a monitor.  So I guess something video wise at least allows the TV to shutoff after x.xx of no use...  Maybe AmigaKit can chime in here and let you know what the X5K offers if anything beyond that.  I am not aware of anything.  TJ

There's almost no power management in AmigaOS, and that's definitely something on my wishlist.

The only power management we have is related to graphics:
- The screen blanker will switch off the monitor after a set time
- The RadeonRX driver has dynamic power management, so it'll throttle the GPU up and down based on load
