Title: AmiModRadio - All of Aminet modules at your fingertips
Post by: Tygre on July 20, 2015, 04:34:03 AM
(http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/image/Programming/AmiModRadio/Radio.small.png) Did you know that, as of today (2015/06/02), there are more than 20,000 packages (http://aminet.net/tree) in the mods directory on Aminet? Yes! That's more than 20,000 modules to play and enjoy! (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/shades_smile.gif)   So, why not have a program that could automatically download one   module at-a-time, extract it, and play it? This is the purpose of   AmiModRadio...

Essentials

AmiModRadio is composed essentially of four parts:

Downloads
AmiModRadio is open source. Its source code and binaries are available on SourceForge (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/) and BitBucket (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/overview) (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/heart.gif)! Manual and other resources are available on its Web page (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/index.php?title=AmiModRadio&from=AmiModRadio). AmiModRadio binaries are available here:

Usage
You can start AmiModRadio at any times from a Shell but RexxMast and a supported player must be availabe for options 2. or 6. to function: RexxMast and either EaglePlayer, HippoPlayer, or MultiPlayer must be running for options 2. or 6. to run :).

Contributing
Please contribute by asking for features or reporting bugs (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/)!

Hmmm, Snapped to Attention for me....  :)

Definitely will give this a go on the A2K w/ the BLIZZ!
This should work well on OS3.9 - OS3.9 just WORKS! :)
I've always had trouble with XAD with OS3.5 for some reason... Oh Well....

Hi Tygre,

This is promising piece of software thanks for this!

Just had a short discussion with AceMan (composer and maintainer of modules.pl (http://www.modules.pl/)) and if you want you both could integrate AmiModRadio with modules.pl (http://www.modules.pl/) site. There is already API for this (but still HTTP is required). It would be awesome. Don't hesitate to contact AceMan (http://www.modules.pl/?id=profile&uid=2)!

Regards!

Hi again Tygre.

I'm so glad to hear this! This can be amazing peace of work! Let me know if you need any testing in later stages of integration or you appreciate some ideas (modules.pl also have rating system and favourites lists so you can make use of, etc etc - lots of ideas behind these..).

All the bast!

BTW, I haven't heard from AceMan in few days now for my registration over at "modules.pl", do you have contact with him?

Thanks!

Hi all!

I have just released a new version of AmiModRadio, which now supports  other sources of modules in addition to Aminet: it supports ftp.modland.com (http://ftp.modland.com/) (because it was easy to implement, having FTP access). In the future, it will support local disks and HTTP sites, like modules.pl (http://www.modules.pl/index.php?id=main). It also uses the icon made by Retrofan (thanks again!) (http://eab.abime.net/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Next milestone: implementing the MUI user-interface! (http://eab.abime.net/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

In the meantime, suggestions and bug reports (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open) are always welcome!

Cheers!

I'm so glad there's a progress! And the MUI interface is coming! Yeeey!

Can't wait modules.pl integration. I've already posted some proposals and issues to your tracker. I will keep adding them if I will find anything asking for improvement.

Sorry to read that AmiModRadio does not work... Have you tried both the MUI and the CLI version? From a Shell, could you please run "AmiModRadio" or "AmiModRadio MUI" so that all the output is written into the Shell and send it to me when it does not work, please?

Regarding using "modland" from the MUI version, it is not yet implemented... next release!

Thank you for your help!

I tried both version MUI and cli.... parsing /modfiles -> downloads a modfile but is unable to extract/play it. Directory t: is empty. previous versions last week worked perfect ! Maybe something wrong with the protection-bits of the archive ?

Really sorry about that: could you please send me the content of the Console so that I can see the "debug" output? (You may have to move the slider up to see the "hidden" content or, depending on your Shell, you may have a "Save text as" option in the Shell menu.)

Thanks in advance! :)

grmpffff.... found out tht a missing xadmaster.library will fix the Problem.....

What's the difference here between aminet nd modland ??? you should state this somewhere with the aminet-link, that xadmaster.library is required for using mimodradio!

works fine now !

solution: install xadmaster.library... this is normaly not needed on 3.9 systems !

thanks!

Very happy that it works for you new :)

I will create a list of "requirements" to clarify the needed libraries... Regarding Aminet (http://aminet.net/tree) vs. ModLand (http://ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Protracker/), there are two different sources, check them out!

Cheers!

Hi all!

Version v0.93 of AmiModRadio is available here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), or here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download) :)

Besides refactorings and bug fixes, including for #9 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/9/report-progress-and-error-messages-in-the) (having a progress reports in the MUI) and #22 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/22/check-for-requirements) (reporting missing libraries and such), the main new feature is an improved MUI :) Still some work to do though... :rolleyes

As usual, bug reports and ideas are welcome (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Cheers!

While downloading big files such as mp3 using the gui with the logging-srceen, the rest of the system is totaly unusable. My System ist A4000 with cyberstormPPC.

the cpu-overhaed while updating this "log-screen" is 100% BTW... in my opinion there is no need for this... make ist switchable :D

Please, if you have a chance, could you post bug reports (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)?

Thanks!

Version v0.94 of AmiModRadio is available here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), or here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download) :)

Besides some refactorings and minor bug fixes, it includes a usable MUI interface: you can now change the source and root directory and even save modules! Icons are ugly... Wish I could be more artsy :p

As usual, bug reports and ideas are welcome (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Cheers!

Hi all!

Version v0.95 of AmiModRadio is available here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadio.lha) :)

The revamped MUI uses new icons and some interesting code (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=1054742) to launch automatically players if in the path. It also include some user preferences, although they are not yet accessible from the UI. As a consequence, putting AmiModRadio in the WBStartup drawer will start AmiModRadio, which will launch the first player recognised in the path and play some music immediately!

In addition to some refactorings and clean-up, this version also fixes bugs #13 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/13/gui-performance-and-configuration), #19 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/19/refresh-automatically-console), and #23 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/23/auto-start-of-player-does-not-work-when).

As usual, bug reports and ideas are welcome (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Cheers!

Sorry about that: I just tried them all and they all work for me (from Montreal), could you please tell me which one(s) do not work for you?

Thanks!

@ Tygre : nice ! does it work now under AOS4 ? older versions only worked with mp3 under AmigaAMP3 but mod files failed.

Thanks a lot!

AmiModRadio should work under AOS4! Unfortunately, my AOS4 machine (running WinUAE) just broke down :( so I cannot try it but I would really appreciate any feedback! I would like AmiModRadio to run in all Amiga flavours :)

Thanks!

Hi all!

AmiModRadio v0.96 is now available here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.96.lha), and here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download)!

AmiModRadio is getting closer to its completion! It now includes preferences (currently to start (or not) playing modules automatically and to show (or not) the log page automatically ) and an improved user interface, with which the log can be saved! It also includes some refactorings and bug fixing, in particular bugs #26 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/26/manage-user-preferences), #28 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/28/allow-content-of-log-tab-to-be-copied), #34 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/34/when-saving-a-module-from-the-mui-the-asl), and #36 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/36/player-is-started-on-run-quit).

Merry X-mas!

Hi all!

AmiModRadio v0.97 is now available here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.97.lha), and here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download)!

AmiModRadio now understand HTTP and the Modules.pl source now works, thanks to AceMan's API! Modules.pl contains more than 8,000 curated modules (as of this release's date) (http://eab.abime.net/images/smilies/cool.gif). This version also introduces a cache to speed up accesses to ModLand.com  huge  collection as well as many preferences... It also fixes several  bugs and  has been refactored. Its makefile has also been entirely  rewritten to  generate the distribution automatically, including  Retrofan's icons (http://eab.abime.net/images/smilies/agree.gif). Bugs #1 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/1/modulespl-integration), #21 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/21/cache), and #35 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/35/when-creating-install-lha-remove-the-empty) thus disappear!

PS. This version has also been built without Fortify (http://aminet.net/package/dev/c/fortify22)!

Happy (belated) new year! (http://eab.abime.net/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Hi all!

AmiModRadio v0.98 is now available here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha), here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.98.lha), and here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download)!

AmiModRadio now supports different images sets thanks to Retrofan's suggestion and amazing work! :cool So, now, you can have multiple images sets for the icons shown on AmiModRadio's Controls page.

To choose an images set, go to the Prefs page and use the cycle button in the list view. All current image sets are Retrofan's (http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=1061371&postcount=84) (except for the Default).

To add a new images set, simply create a new directory in images/ and put in it the images that you want to use (which replace any Default image by the same name). Voilà! :p

Happy 29th of February! :)

Dear all!

I am happy to announce the release of AmiModRadio v0.991 (here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.991.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha)) :)

In addition to fixing some bugs and to some refactorings, this version adds a long-awaited social-media feature ;). It is now possible to rate modules from 1 to 5 (1 lowest, 5 highest). When playing modules, if the community has rated them, the community's rates are displayed. If the user also has rated them (based on her IP address), the user's rates are also displayed! :cool

The rates are stored by IP addresses along number of votes (nothing more, nothing less) on an Amiga server (http://www.chingu.asia/amimodradio/display_ratings.php)! Yes, only Amiga makes it possible :p.

As usual, any comments/questions/bug reports are welcome (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!
Cheers!

Dear all!

I am happy to offer a new version v0.994 of AmiModRadio after these long months of silence! :)

You can take it from here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.994.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha).

This version implements almost all the buttons (but one): now, extra windows open to show the list of directories, of files, and of modules. It also features an auto-ban (#55 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/55/offer-option-to-auto-ban-auto-score)) to automatically skip modules rated as 1 or 2. Finally, it includes the usual bug fixes and thoughts to have a more flexible design. More to come about that in the next release

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Cheers!

Dear all!

I am happy to offer a new version v0.995 of AmiModRadio! :)

You can take it from here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.995.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha).

While the last version implemented almost all the buttons (but one) but just for display, this new version allow users to browse the content of directories and files and play other modules than the one picked by AmiModRadio! (Just double-click on a listed file!) (http://eab.abime.net/images/smilies/cool.gif)

This new version also offers many more options, in particular to cache directories lists to improve responsiveness.

The Wiki page has also been improved to describe accurately requirements (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/index.php?title=AmiModRadio#TOC_1) and the new MUI functionalities (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/index.php?title=AmiModRadio#TOC_4).

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Dear all!

I am happy to release a new version v0.997 of AmiModRadio after these long months of silence! :)

You can take it from here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.997.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha).

This version arrives after some software, hardware, and wetware problems... Most of these problems are being managed now so development should resume and release should happen more regularly ;) This new release mostly includes bug fixes (#60 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/60/weird-behaviour-on-error-conditions), #61 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/61/weird-behaviour-on-error-conditions-2), #64 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/64/weird-behaviour-on-error-conditions-3), #67 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/67/cache-should-be-enabled-by-default), #68 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/68/violation-of-mui-rules), #69 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/69/dont-try-again-and-again-to-access-the), #70 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/70/infinite-loop-with-modland). #73 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/73/weird-behaviour-if-modules-is-not-playable), #74 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/74/memory-leak-when-ftp-connection-fails), #75 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/75/no-file-left-behind), and #76 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/76/blacklist-doesnt-prevent-some-special)), stay tune for new features! Also, I want AmiModRadio to work on Honx's config... as well as on my A4000/30...

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

finally tried out the latest version of AMR last night on my A4k and it seems to be working fine by downloading over 35MB of mods into fastram, played one song then stopped..no errors but couldn't get it to play another song?

Was very late so didn't have time to mess with it last night but will try again when I get back home from work today

ok so tried again and same result except this time not even one song played, so I started RexxMast and already had xadmaster060 in my libs.  Started AmigaAMP then started AmiModRadio from WB.  AMR started flashing all kinds of info looking for mods and I noticed my fastram going down as the mods were being cached I suppose but after 40 minutes no sound at all,,,the cursor is busy when going over AMR so can't cancel or quit it.

I'm running OS3.0 with BB's 1 and 2 on Amiga 4000 with CSMKIII

Dear all!

I am happy to release a new version v0.998 of AmiModRadio as Easter bounty :).

You can take it from here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.998.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha).

This version includes a new source, The Module Archive. It currently only considers MOD files and mingle the file names but improvements are on their way! It also fixes several bugs, including #77 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/77/update-copyright-years), #78 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/78/add-new-source-the-module-archive), and #79. (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/79/auto-adjust-the-stack-size) In particular, it should fix problems faced by some users, including Honx and Tumo, as well as others who reported crashes upon exit! :juggler:

klx300r, this new version may solve your problem as well, please let me know!

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Cheers!

Dear all!

I am happy to release a new version v0.9991 of AmiModRadio after these long months of silence! :)

You can take it from here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.9991.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha).

This new release includes bug fixes (#83 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/83/allow-user-to-limit-the-size-of-the) and #90 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/90/move-file-cache) that should improve usability: it comes with more preferences to choose the modules and cache drawers as well as limit the size of the files to-be-downloaded. Thus, it improves playability (of modules) by avoiding downloading large archives with silly MP3 or MPEG files in them ;). It also fixes a couple of bugs and includes a full-fledge parsing for FTP LIST lines... Enjoy! :D

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Cheers!

Dear all!

I am happy to release a new version v0.9992 of AmiModRadio after these long months of silence! :)

You can take it from here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.9992.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha).

This new release includes three improvements: three visible, one invisible... You can now access the modules from FireHawk at http://mod.haxor.fi/ (http://mod.haxor.fi/) (thanks!) (bug #93 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/93/add-new-source-from-firehawk)), update AmiModRadio using AmiAutoUpdater (bug #40 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/40/autoupdater)), and save your modules (again) without crashing... Invisibly, the logging is better and should allow for more useful messages (bug #62 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/62/distinguish-log-from-information))... Enjoy! :D

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Hi all!

I just released a new version of AmiModRadio (http://"http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/index.php?title=AmiModRadio") on time for the new semester! :)

You can take it from here (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.9993.lha"), here (http://"https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download"), or here (http://"http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha").

This new version features many bug fixes (and cleanup) and improvements: #27 (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/27/use-mui-feature-to-link-help-to-an") (AmigaGuide and help), #30 (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/30/players-seem-not-to-work-in-aos4") (compatibility with AmigaOS v4), #40 (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/40/autoupdater") (AmiAutoUpdater (http://"http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/index.php?title=AmiAutoUpdater")), #62 (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/62/distinguish-log-from-information") (better messages), #86 (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/86/reduce-timeout-when-connecting-to-servers") (faster response times), and #94 (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/94/mui_redraw-called-from-child-process") and #95 (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/95/changing-skin-restarts-the-whole") (bug fixes). It also include localisations in English and French with the German catalog in progress :cool.

(In particular, I fixed AmigaSystem's most hated bug (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/95/changing-skin-restarts-the-whole") ;).)

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (http://"https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open")!

Cheers!

It also fixes bugs #101 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/101/iconified-icon) and #102 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/102/workbench-title-bar), which beautify AmiModRadio 8)

You can take it from here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/LatestAmiModRadiov0.9994.lha), here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download), or here (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha). You can also update AmiModRadio using AmiAutoUpdater through the script "Update and Run".

As usual, bug reports are always welcome here (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues?status=new&status=open)!

Cheers!

Hi all!

After more than one year ???, I'm happy to release a new version of AmiModRadio v0.9995 :)

This version fixes two bugs #104 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/104/download-from-aminet-broken) and #105 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/105/some-drawers-seem-to-contain-only-readme) but also now works on A4000/30, A1200/60, and A600/Vampire. It also has been extensively tested by AmigaSystem and includes new skins, thanks!

You can download it here (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/LatestAmiModRadio.lha/download) or there (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/).

Important: You must delete the content of the PROGDIR:cache drawer because I had the change the file format to improve the users' messages!

As usual, bug reports, suggestions, and contributions are welcome! 8)
Cheers!

Hi AmigaSystem and all!

I'm happy to release a new version of AmiModRadio, v0.9997, which is now multitasks!

As the sequence diagram (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sequence_diagram) above didn't explain very well :), AmiModRadio now has three tasks collaborating to bring you the best modules from the Internet 8)

That means no more frozen UI while modules download and downloading can be interrupted at anytime :) (Just press the stop button!) I also refactored my code to make it more beautiful and fixed several (logic) bugs...

As usual, AmiModRadio can be downloaded, along with its source code:

Please contribute by asking for features, reporting bugs, or offering translations (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/)! (I'm still looking for a German speaker...)

Enjoy!

added this to your bitbucket site:

Tried the auto-update and worked great on my A4000 ;D With the latest version I'm getting a popup that says "MUI_Redraw() task mismatch" MUI_ReDraw(0x08D0E4B0, 0x))))))1) was called from task 0x08D0C3A0 'AmiModRadio Fetcher' instead of the application's main task! This is a violation of basic MUI rules!"I clicked on ignore and program rain fine after that.

Hi all!

I'm happy to release another version of AmiModRadio, v0.99995! The main improvements are related to sockets and players. Sockets should now not block ever again, with the addition of timeouts. Players are now described in the INI file data/Players so that new players can be added at anytime, by anyone, without having to recompile 8). This version also fixes bugs #97 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/97/reaction-gui), #112 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/112/add-new-source-amp), #118 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/118/add-new-player-edplayer), #119 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/119/put-the-arexx-commands-in-a-config-file), and #120 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/120/inefficient-_connect_player).

As usual, it can be downloaded, along with its source code:

Please contribute by asking for features, reporting bugs, or offering other translations (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/)!

Enjoy :)

Hi all!

Thanks to AmigaSystem's help (http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=1582789&postcount=649), and on time for Xmas 8), I'm releasing another version of AmiModRadio, v0.99996! It fixes the bug that led to the MUI window to "flash" endlessly when changing "skin". It also includes some rewrite of the core code to increase cohesion and the modules list now works well, including the progress bar. This version also fixes bugs #46 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/46/progression-bar-when-loading), #98 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/98/adjust-preferences-to-window-size), and #116 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/116/playing-from-the-list-of-modules-doesnt).

As usual, it can be downloaded, along with its source code:

- Via HTTP, on my Amiga Web server (http://www.chingu.asia/wiki/userfiles/file/Programming/AmiModRadio/LatestAmiModRadio.lha) :D;
- Via HTTPs on Aminet of course (https://aminet.net/package/mus/play/AmiModRadio) :);
- Via HTTPs on BitBucket (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/downloads/);
- Via HTTPs on SourceForge (https://sourceforge.net/projects/amimodradio/files/Current/).

Hi all!

I'm happy to release AmiModRadio, v0.99997! It fixes fixes bugs #84 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/84/reduce-memory-churn) and #126 (https://bitbucket.org/tygre/amimodradio/issues/126/add-a-new-source-for-amp), which means that AMP is now a new source, with another 100,000 modules available (https://amp.dascene.net/)! It also includes some cleanup of the code to simplify and strengthen it. The lists of directories/files (when available, depending on the source) now work as you'd expect.

As usual, it can be downloaded, along with its source code:

Has anyone been able to get this to run on AmigaOS4.1?

Hi klx300r and Valiant!

@klx300r Yes, almost there... two more weeks  ;)
I want to finish the ClassAct GUI and add a source for local folders and that'll be v1.0!

@Valiant Sorry, I know that it crashes under 4.1 (in WinUAE), after the 1.0, I'll learn coding for AmigaOS 4 and make it work!
