AmigaKit Capacitor Replacement Service
« on: March 15, 2010, 08:44:02 PM »
Has anyone used this service?

I have an A4000D with dodgy capacitors (bad audio) and have been trying to find someone to fix it (my soldering skills aint upto the job) and was thinking for £29.99 that this was pretty good value.

Thanks.

I didn't know they did it, but for 30 quid I just might take my A4000 mobo with me the next time I go back to visit Wales.

I used them to add extra RAM to my Minimig and that went by without a hitch (and that was a real bastard of a soldering job).

@Darrin thanks for that. The alternative is to ship the board to Anthony Hoffman, but he's in New Zealand, which is a bit too far for me.

Sounds okay.  NZ is closer for me. But I have a sneaking suspicion my caps have already been done. Wonder how long they'll last.

@Weed

I did mine on my 4000D and to be honest If They had offered that service when I did mine I would have snatched their hand off :)

I've got my spare MB to do yet - I think it could be going to Wales pretty soon!!
