Title: AMIcast Episode 14 - Manuel Zehr - future of Amiga NG
Post by: radzik on July 15, 2016, 03:01:28 PM
I have met Manuel at facebook chat. We have talked about problems of Amiga NG and his ideas to solve it. We have talked about his ideas to push AmigaOS 4 in new markets like: Asia and Africa. After this, we decided, that it should be done as episode of podcast. We have hope, that our VIPs will take on consider some of our suggestions.

His idea for AmigaOS business addition "for controlling robotics", today you can use PLS to control robotics, you don't need as complicated as AmigaOS to do that.

For micro controllers there lots good SDK's and tools for programming, for programming Robotics.

AmigaOS business addition for office, you need office software and printer drivers, and you need lots of security, you software for database, and so on and so on.

Quote: "Too match codex/codec", well he does know what that is, this about decoding video, or encoding video, it what you need for home entertainment. No home entertainment, no fun.

Quote "more developers"
Developers = money.

Quote "PR"
You can't sell anything without software.

It seems he wonts fund development, but he think he can just pay money, and just by magic things will just solve it self, this not the case, you need people who can deliver what they say, how do you make sure that they do produce what they say.

From experience you can't make living on this, too few people are interested into paying for bounty's. People don't understand the amount of work need to complete things.

What this Amiga community consists most of lots of idea guy's, but they can't code, they don't have any money to pay anyone to do the work, they have no clue about project management, even if they had the money, I'm 80% sure they pay money to a scammer who, take money and run off. We don't need idea guy's we need people who has experience for project management, there has to be realistic sub goals.

Then there is the critic, who says some like they don't want it to be commercial, but they wont to delivered yesterday. So it wont's it but don't wont to pay for it.

Is this not way software fails to be realized, no has the money to work on this full time, because no get payed, there are no developers, because there is no developers thins are delivered slowly or not at all.

You dream about 1% of market, but we don't have 1% of the market.

Hans, Daniel, Andy deliver quite complex software on time, I'm sure they're others.
