Now people just starting out in graphic design can get their feet wet without pirating CS. I hope schools are on top of this.
Well, I doubt Adobe was too concerned about students pirating their products, as Adobe is earning the same for a pirated CS6 as they are for this free CS2.
Personally, I think Adobe was getting concerned that people WEREN'T pirating their products, anymore. The kids in school weren't learning on pirated Photoshop. Pirating Photoshop was more pain than it's worth. They were learning on Gimp or other free or cheap alternatives, instead. Failing to hook people on the entry level was starting to hurt Adobe's bottom line in lost sales later. Hook 'em early, then reel 'em in to pay later when they can afford it is a smart strategy. A lot smarter than trying to strong-arm a $1000 package on someone who can't pay it, and then wondering why they resent you later.
