@amiga.org e-mail forwarding now available.
« on: June 08, 2009, 03:49:50 PM »
After a lot of consideration as to how to best accomplish getting @amiga.org e-mail addresses back to the people, we now allow you to join us as a subscriber to get your own e-mail forwarder.

While I realize the thought of needing to subscribe to the site to get such features may upset some, please understand that managing all these forwarding rules is currently a manual process.

As such, we simply cannot set up and manage over 6000 addresses (1 per user), nor could we even manage the 1000 active users now on the site as a free service.

We also need to consider the bandwidth involved in provide e-mail service (even forwarding) to the masses.  As such, we've developed a new "AO Subscriber" usergroup with e-mail forwarding and several other great features.

Get your own @amiga.org e-mail address today!

Subscribe now to get your own @Amiga.org e-mail forwarding address.

1 month, $3.00 USD
3 months, $7.00 USD (or 2.33/month)
6 months, $12.00 USD (or $2/month)
12 months, $20.00 USD (or $1.66/month)

 When you subscribe, you get;
  • Your own @amiga.org address which forwards mail from username@amiga.org to the e-mail address specified in your Amiga.org Profile.
  • Private Messages: You can store up to 1000 Private messages, rather than the 250 that registered users can.
  • Private Messages: You can send twice as many PM's at a time.
  • Custom User Titles: you can set your own custom user title from the User CP
  • User Reputations: You can see who left you reputation points
  • Social Groups: If you create a Social group then decide to close it, you have that privilege.
  • Social Groups: You can also manage discussions that you start, to include deleting them.
  • Classifieds: 10 free Sponsored ads, 10 free Premium Ads.
  • More access to neat features as they become available.
You can subscribe today inside your User Control Panel, under Options, you'll see "paid subscriptions" or directly via this link.

I get "The link you have used to enter the PayPal system is invalid. Please review the link and try again." when choosing 6 month or 12 month subscription.
My bad.  Since I'm an admin, I can't test it on this side, but believe I know what happened.

Please reload the page and try again?

But now I get:

 tone007, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

when I click "Home" in the top menu.
Very odd.  What happens when you log out and back in?

Now it's better.
Again, mea culpa.

When I created the user group, the system didn't tell the front page that subscribers had access to any modules.

It should now be fixed, but let me know if anything looks out of place.

Sorry for the trouble, thanks for the support and help testing.
