« on: November 04, 2014, 07:36:47 PM »
Ok, ive been using an LG burner on my A4000 for a long time using AsimCDFS but only as a reader not a burner. is there any way to burn cds or is that still not possible because of buffer issues?

Haha. @ribdevil1 beat me to it. ;) That software seems unnecessarily complex, but it works. Now if someone could just make a nice guide for how to use it easily... but I won't hold my breath. :)

Probably off topic:

You can also read Blu-Ray discs (with a BD drive), and burn DVD's in OS4.1.  Ubuntu on the X1000 has lots of fun programs for manipulating discs (ripping movies, etc.), so my A4000T had a DVD-R/W and my X1000 a BD-R/W.

Probably also off-topic, does the X1000 have the oomph to play back Blu-Ray movies under 4.1?  Just idle curiousity.  :)

I don't know; I've been using it for backups -- plus I don't own any Blu-Ray movies

Had to search the forums but I knew I remembered someone posting that just recently.  ;)

I often wonder why a lot of things don't get uploaded to Aminet?  Just off the top of my head recently MUI 3.9, the demo version of Tales of Gorluth, etc.  Seems pointless to upload programs to individual websites where they'll languish in obscurity.  I don't know about everyone else, but I still check Aminet almost every day for updates to some of my favorite tools and utilities (like the Peter K. icon.library), and to try out new programs.

Just recently I downloaded a new Tron/Snake-style game (Worm Wars) that I've been having a lot of fun playing and which works great on my system (supports graphics cards, etc.), and of course there was the recent upload of the final version of MegaBall (another fun time-waster that's very system-friendly).  I was a registered owner of that game, back in the day.  I miss the good old days of dozens of new Aminet uploads daily, but there's still some good stuff showing up on there. :)

/sorry, OT rant  ;)
