ATX PSU replacement in A2000
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: The small PCB next to PSU is a Tick generator. I had to make 'legs' (using Nescafee aluminium can) for new PSU because its much smaller then original. It is also a bit heavy, some say thats sign of 'good quality'. I couldn't find an exact replacement for power_on switch, so I had to use one similar to original and some hot glue. I also had to drill a hole in PSU for screws. Might seem like a lot of work, but not really. Selles Posts:78 | December 23, 2010, 01:45:52 AM Here is how I did mine: 1. Remove board from a micro-ATX power supply. 2. Unsolder the wires from that board. 3. Remove board from Amiga 2000 power supply. 4. Spay paint Amiga 2000 PSU case Amiga tan color. 5. Unsolder wires from the Amiga 2000 PSU board. 6. Now solder those wires onto the micro-ATX board. 7. Mount this assembly into the Amiga 2000 PSU case. 8. Replace fan with a new ball-bearing, red LED fan. 9. screw on cover. |

orange Posts:2794 | May 25, 2007, 02:22:43 PM using jumper for Tick generator is for lamahs :-P no it does not 'work fine'; your clock is not precise any more and you can't use some genlocks. Here are PCBs for Tick and other stuff. |
Andeda Posts:594 | May 23, 2007, 08:42:08 PM Tick issue: In addition you need to change jumper J300 to cover pins 2-3, so that the TICK signal is provided internally by the VSYNC signal. / http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/amiga_hacks/Amiga_Power_supplies/amiga_power_supplies.html |

countzero Posts:1938 | April 18, 2007, 10:07:42 AM Hmm, neat job ! where did you find the schematics for the tick generator ? It's possible to get the tick from vsync on rgb on an A3000. is it also possible in the A2000 ? |
