Spirit Insider Clock Battery IC MK48T02 Modified | ||

Description: I wanted to replace the battery for the Spirit clock without hacking the top half of the IC off. I carefully routed out a section on the end of the MK48T02 chip where the internal battery connections are. Next I soldered in a standard pin header to the connection points and filled the area back in with some epoxy. After it dried I hit it with some black model paint and hooked up the battery. It works! The Spirit clock keeps time again even when the Amiga 1000 is turned off.
