You also have to remember that Intel makes a zillion other chips other than the Pentium line, some quite good.  It's entirely possible that Apple could be talking to Intel to source one of there excellent NIC chipsets, RISC processors, etc.

It could also mean that Apple could be licensing the PPC to Intel to produce as well.

I don't think it is Apple's to license.
