I know this thread get buried quickly, but is there really no interest from our more local (Washington D.C., Baltimore, etc.) users? People always seem to gripe that we have nothing local to us. Well, here it is. Let's hear some support!

I'm a NoVA user, and was actually at VCF East! I'd be thrilled to hear about a more local user group.

Yup, Pico had to get in on the action, as usual. My A1200 is (shamefully) naked, as I've finally set up an SD card adapter to replace my (actually working) HDD. I like the HDD sounds, though, so I may go back and try using a PCMCIA CF for my computer transferring needs. Also waiting on an Indivision AGA Mk2 and a 1233/40 '030 Accelerator.

I live in Mount Vernon but work in the Tyson's Corner area. I sometimes go into DC, though I try to avoid it.

Nice!  Good stuff.  She'll be a sweet little system once you get those mods in-place.  :)  Have you looked into Kipper2k's HDMI output converter, that fits in-place of the RF output?  If I had an A1200+Indivision that's what I'd use, instead of the DVI.

You're not that far from me, I range from DC to Manassas/Gainesville/Centreville areas with most of my jobs, so I probably pass you going down 66 all the time.  Think the biggest hurdle is finding a place that could host.  We did a few local meetups at @bigbronc's house in Maryland last year-ish, but he hasn't been active on the forums in a while.  My house isn't suitable to host a meetup, I've considered taking over one of the conference rooms at my office but since we're basically a 24/7 operation, I'm not sure how well that would fly.  :(

Any ideas?

Tricky, not sure where we could host it offhand. There are some hackerspaces in the area that might be into the idea of retro computers, though. NovaLabs in Reston (http://www.nova-labs.org/blog/), Tech Shop in Arlington (http://www.techshop.ws/, more of a for-profit workshop), and HacDC in DC (https://www.hacdc.org/), which I was a member of up until recently.

If we turned it into a class about retro computers, it'd probably be easier to pitch. Hackerspaces are generally pretty open, though.

I hadn't heard much about the HDMI option, but that looks cool. His site seems dated though, as it seems to indicate that the Indivision MKii isn't complete. Where is it sold?

HacDC... I get spam from them all the time.  Probably for two years, and I still haven't had time to look into it.  *sigh* :(

Kipper2k sells his stuff directly, very reasonable-priced, IMHO.  I've bought a thing or two from him before.  Shoot him an email, he should get back to you in a day or two.  :)

This is another thing I might consider if I had an A1200 - the CF Adapter - External:  http://kipper2k.com/cfadapters.html .  If I had an A1200.  ;)

Weird, the "Contact" link on his website isn't working.  That's a new site, I hadn't looked at it until just tonight. His previous site had everything listed on one long scrolling page.   I'll PM you his email address.  :)

Edit: Second thought, he has an account on here, as well?  You could try that, too.  :)

Looks like I'll have to PM him on the forum. His email address resulted in a delivery failure.
