Vintage Computer Festival - Southwest 1.0
« on: July 28, 2010, 02:42:11 PM »
Not strictly Amiga, but should be interesting.

I'm planning on having several Amiga items on my sell table.  Should have an A1000 with an Insider installed, an A1060 Sidecar, and some odds and ends.  Might even bring my A2000 with the 386SX bridgeboard installed and the CF Microdrives.

If anyone is in the DFW area, it would be great if they could put together an Amiga display.  Tables are $15 or 2 for $25 for the 2 day event and includes free entry (DUH!)

Well, it is a 2 day event!  Might try to catch at least one day.  To be honest, I don't think there's going to be so many displays it'll take you all day to see it all.

Well, the show is over.

Considering it was the first event of its kind in the area and the lack of heads up, it went pretty well.

There were 4 displayers, counting myself, and not a whole lot of visitors.

It was held in the University Center at UT Arlington on the second floor.

Talking to Gil, the organizer, he said the school board delayed letting him have a firm date which delayed getting the word out.  He plans of trying to get things set up for next year for September which should provide more people coming in.  Should also allow for getting the word out a LOT sooner.

Hopefully, someone form this community will be able to attend and hopefully display next year.

I'm thinking next year I may show my Amiga 500, 1000, 2000 and my Minimig next year.  I love my little TI CC-40, but to be honest, it's not the greatest display item.  Just kinda sits there!
