It has only been one day the last two years. Suppose
there isn't  a market in Sweden for more days..

I recall a show in Gothemburgh (last year? Two years ago?) that was a two day event. The first day with Amiga focus and the second day with Pegasos focus. Maybe these were two separate shows, but in practice it should have felt like like one single two day event (I wasn't there though) since both the target audience and exhibitors are quite identical.

At AmiGBG 2003 everything was on a Saturday.

First a  Pegasos-guy talked, then the Eyetech-guy.

Hi
Why IBM did not promote PowerPC with Apple or Amiga?
INTEL have extensive marketing campaigns on TV,
magazine, newspaper etc. On every PC advertisement
the vendor mention "Intel Inside" logo.
If Mai Logic or Marvel products are "Ready for IBM
Technology", why IBM did not port AIX OS to AmigaOne
or Pegasos, similar to IBM - BULL agreement?
Perhaps Amiga Inc / Eyetech / Genesi should have
an agreement with IBM about porting AIX.

They will be putting much more weight behind it when the next round of consoles will be out, all of them with PowerPC processors (or derivatives).

AIX is not an operating system you would want to run on a desktop, it is a server-side OS developed with big-tin hardware in mind.

Well if you (for some strange(!) reason) fails to arrange one joint event, then two "single events" at the same time and location is the second best thing. Naturally, the better deal you manage to offer your visitors, the more visitors will be attracted to the show. Everyone will benefit from this.

I really hope that there will be a 2x1 day event this year too. I myself live far away from Göteborg, and it won't be worth it to travel all that distance for just one day. But if there is a show on Saturday first, then some partying at nightclubs at Saturday Night and then some more show on Sunday ("separate event" or not), then it sounds a lot more appealing if you know what I mean? ;-)

It would be a great failure of the organizers if they miss this fact, they might not get as many visitors (and exhibitors) as they could have otherwise.

It's not a failure on our part, we started sketching on the show sometime in september, and by then we looked at what was shown last year, the year before that and by looking at other shows (both by us and others). It's a content thing, too. Either you have one day pretty packed with things, or you go two days which might feel scant.. and then how will you spread the seminars? What if there are more people on saturday and only half on sunday? What would the sunday exhibitors/spokepeople say then? Either way we do it, people will ask us to do differently.

There are people that has to travel some 8-12h by train, they wouldn't be happy if it was on sunday too (as an example).
In september you can only make rough plans and you really have no idea how many might accept the invitation or how large the fair will be. If more and more exhibitors keep coming, and more and more people start to show up for our annual shows, we will indeed extend them.

We've taken a huge step up in quality this year, both looking at exhibitors and where the show will be held, but if we try to change too much in too little time, there's a larger chance we'll run out of "fuel" and fail.  We've so far given you a little taste of what is to be, but we have many more surprises up our sleeves. To put it differently, we've only just started...

Unfortunately, there aren't that many of those who has that burning enthusiasm about the platform and are willing to put some effort into doing something like this, but we're hoping that by lighting a bright flair like this, we'll attract people willing to help out. :)

These are interesting times we live in. New machines in progress, new AmigaOS in progress.. userbase slowly, slowly growing..  which is a success in itself.

Well I thinks it's starting to look like a cool show!
And the fair is just 3 hours by flight from London. Just 14.99 GBP at regular price with ryanair. Could be a cool Amiga weekend. Never been to sweden.
Any other blokes going from the UK?
