GOATSE?

Sorry.

Probably I have SAIRS (Slashdot-acquired Internet repulsion syndrome), but do all these Amiga show abbreviations really *have* to remind me of goatse.cx? I think I have developed new pathways and ganglia in my spinal cord; I've got a finger reflex that pulls my mouse pointer away from all similar links...
Maybe it\\\'s still possible to save AmigaOS  :rtfm:......

Hmmm... seems we're having a little bit of server trouble. I'm sure it'll be back up soon. I can't find out more info until I get home from work, but hopefully it'll already be resolved then...

Edit: its back up.

Am I just being way too grumpy or does anyone else think that they should be expending the time/money/energy that they're using for this "OS 4 world tour" on FINISHING THE FRELLING OS?!?  Why worry about PR?  The folks who are waiting for this ARE gonna buy it, and it's much more likely that they will do so the sooner it comes out!  It's nice that they're being very outgoing and responsive to the community, but does any of this get OS 4 up and running any quicker or better?  :-?  Help me out, folks.  I'm just not getting it.

The South West Amiga Group are a usergroup, we are not the developers of OS4, therefore your point is moot.

@DarkHawke
I think you must've gotten out of the wrong side of the bed this morning.
Firstly, the money being spent here is going to be by enthusiasts, not by the developers. The time and effort being expended is worth it IMHO, as it enables the many of us who do not have a PPC based machine to see it for real. There is no impact on development time as it's doubtful that the Freiden brothers are to appear.
Every week that goes by sees improvement to the coding and providing that we get to see the latest snapshot, we could be seeing something close to what might be considered a beta.
With that end-of-year festivities (cannot remember what it's called now  :-D ) coming up, something like this can act as a reminder that it's not that far off and to keep some money back. I'm only going to buy an AmigaOne once I either know a release date or have seen OS4 in action, to see how complete it is.
The Roadshow will give me a chance to see whats happening, find out the faces (or should that be feces?  :-D ) behind the avatars and  :pint:  :pint:  :pint: with the likes of BobsonSirJohnny  etc.

Same here! And hopefully my christmas bonus will help pay for it! (Oh damn have to buy christmas presents as well :-D)

Having read-up more on OS4 and the features (planned and/or implemented) I get the good impression they are actually thinking about software design very hard. So as to end up with something clean, not like some other OS'es ;-).

The only problem with the show been in Bath is to get there from Derby I have to go past Birmingham and that nast M42/M6 bit of road. Eeek!
