@Troels

I was in Copenhagen last summer, and enjoyed it !
Maybe an OS4.0 presentation there will decide me to come back once again !

As a french, I'm not a good patriot... I won't go to Toulouse, I do prefer the Scandinavian way of life...
I'm fed up with all those french girls throwing at yourself shouting all kinds of dirty things...   :-o

I'm a bit surprised by the response, or better the lack of response from the Amiga community.

I am too, really.  But I think most are either
1) hesitant to get too excited "yet once more for nothing"
or
2) are reserving comments until something is actually shown, since we've has so many failed hopes in the past.

I fall somewhere in those catagories.... While I'll be the first to cheer when it is shown fully running, I'll also wait cautiously until that time.  We've speculated too much over the years....it's time to wait until you see the product... (although, I'll admit to the excitement building in anticipation)

Well, I'll just again paraph-paste from what I said elsewhere, hoping that the sentiment is understood and appreciated. I've often remarked that I have a great respect for the Frieden brothers...

I look forward to seeing the actual AOS4 getting exposure as a running operating system. I feel at that time perhaps a healthy competitive impetus can overtake the frequent skirmishes and potshots coming from all sides, and that the competitive bent between MorphOS and AOS teams will have both scrambling like mad to improve their work - and busy adding features and services that make up mature modern OSes.

May both OSes progress quickly and concretely! {paper OSes make fine kites ; }   Congrats and salutations, Hyperion and associates! Hope to see the actual item, soon  : }

@z5

From my viewpoint, it's a marketing ploy, and a ploy that's coming far
too late to gain interest.

In short, their market is dying.

They need a very dramatic first showing in order to make AOS4 sell
even 1k copies.

@Downix:

as you work for the competition, i won't even bother replying to your 'neutral' post.

By the way, if their market is dying, so is yours. It's the same.

Agreed.  And they've already effectively sold over 1000 copies to those who paid the Club Amiga membership.  That doesn't even begin to touch on the ones who want OS4 but were not willing to join the club.  OS4 does not have a shrinking market, no matter how much they would like you to believe it (ever heard the term "grasping at straws"?).

 Even many of those who have bought a Pegasos still express wanting it ported, and others say they will buy both.  In the end, I think OS4 will grow beyond expectations.

@Olegil

I've just got back from Sweden and I must say that if you guys can organise something in Scandanavia, count me in. Only £44 return to Gothenberg (inc tax). Similar prices at the moment for Oslo, Malmo and Stockholm. Aarhus is even cheaper.
It's cheaper to fly to Scandanavia than it is for me to get a train to the centre of England, if there was to be a show over here.
Although, I'm also tempted to go out to Italy as well........................................

TroelsE:

I really hope you can organize somehing in Copenhagen.
 I would definitely go. Especially since it would only  cost
me about 15 euros for the train tickets.  :-)
