Ottawa Amiga Show Update
« on: November 05, 2002, 02:28:41 PM »
A quick update to the Ottawa Amiga Show:
Great news!  There will a system demoing OS4.0 at the show as well as the AmigaOne.
There has also been an update from two of the retailers.

I forgot to mention something up there.  I must be slipping. :-D

Should you be bringing someone along who isn't (for some unknown, difficult to understand reason) all that interested in wandering around the Amiga show for a few hours, there is a really large craft show taking place a short walk away (ten minutes or so).

See you all there!

@AmiNTT

Reading that page I get all "warm and fuzzy". Has the state of Amiga shows (in Canada) finally taken a turn for the better? I truly wish I could be there but the drive is a bit too far. Maybe I will have to wait for World of Amiga Toronto 2003?

Regards,
Peter

As a matter of fact I am- thanks, I think they'll have fun at the craft show than the Amiga Show (I don't understand it either :) )

BTW: Ottawa's is a pretty fun city too, the Market area is not too far a walk from the show venue as well.

Its too bad that you won't be able to make it.

Perhaps next year we will try to organize a ride-sharing system for those who are coming from out of town.

As for a World of Amiga Show in Toronto - thats up to the folks in Toronto and area.  Its bad enough that we're likely going to have to look around for a new venue next year (need more space).  Trying to set up a show in Toronto from Ottawa would be a tough thing to do.

Perhaps you can look into that?  I'll attend!

I've actually expressed interest in a show in the southern Ontario area as well. Since Adam Kowalczyk is based in Fonthill, we might be able to make arrangements to get something together.

If you're from southern Ontario and would be interested in an opportunity to see the AmigaOne/OS4 and possibly the Pegasos/MorphOS, drop me a line at ne_one@hotmail.com.

Any takers?

Will this be the same demo as shown at WOASE or will the be the enhanced version that they wanted to show but didn't have time to complete?

No idea- though I wouldn't expect too much new- it being only a week after the WOASE.

I'd love to be surprised though. :)

I just asked because somewhere in one of these threads I read over the last few days, someone stated that Ben & CO. were trying to get a full OS4 demo for WOASE, but were 2-3 days short of getting it together (or something like that).....

Will continue to wait.

I'll see what I can find out - if I have time I'll post up details, but my current understanding is that users will be able to play around with it to see how they like it.

Come on over and find out though! ;-)

ZEE4: Where do you think my wife will be?  At the craft show, of course. ;-)
