Look at this 4000 on eBay
« on: January 25, 2016, 03:40:07 AM »
It's listings like this that make me cry. The battery is leaking badly and has not been removed. If it's not already dead it will be soon.

Asking that much for it, stating the battery is leaking and showing it, but not taking it out is unacceptable. This alone tells me it has problems and the seller is playing dumb. The couple of places in the listing that state as is no returns also is a nice clue.

At least you know what you would be getting.  He isn't hiding it.  The first thing I do when I buy an A3000 or an A2000 or an A4000 is open it up and look at the battery.  I bought an A3000 from a regular here on this forum several years ago and he had a bunch of posts and you would have thought that he would check and care for things.  The battery was leaking badly and had ruined the motherboard as far as I was concerned.  I never would have bought it if I would have known just like I would never buy this A4000.

Its a typical seller who got a large lot of Amiga gear from a garage sale and has no clue. Sad

Yep the only explanation is that the seller is the biggest c^%t in the world!

That - and he picks his nose in the car ;)

He also has no pictures of it running at all so that's a good indication it's toast. I highly doubt the monitor that he had with it is missing or that it's not working.
