Title: Needed: A1200 and A4000 mobos - totaly non working beyond repairs.
Post by: amenophis on August 14, 2015, 01:10:47 PM
Hi Guys,

As the title said, we'd like to get a non working Amiga 1200 motherboard and possibly the same for an Amiga 4000 mobo.

These mobos can be absolutely beyond repair. It would be preferable.

We would consider working ones, but this would be a real waste.

Do not hesitate to propose anything you might have, even rusted or in ANY kind of condition.

Of course we'll support all shipping fees.

Thanks to anyone of you who could help us with that.
Cheers,

Is it needed for the A1200 colored case project? If so add that in the post and you might get more response, if not what do you need A1200 & A4000 motherboards for?

I sadly do not have any spare A1200 botherboards else I would send you one.

I was gonna say.  You can't just make a post like this and not give us any details.  Inquiring minds want to know what project it is for!

Hi Guys,

The Amiga 1200 & Amiga 4000 boards are not related to the Amiga 1200 casings campaign we're running.

But i myself have strong connections in Taiwan, and one of the manufacturer i was working with for several years has actually granted me one of his PM to looking into adapting a case to A1200 and A4000.

So because the real physical stuff is better, i'm sending them the boards ;)

I don't think i could say more right now because i don't want to raise false hope hear.
It's just a study. But if the results are promising, you will be informed for sure.

We already in contact with an european retailer interested to distribute these cases IF they become reality. It's all about R&D and quotes now.

By the way, 2 gentlemens already answered us with A1200 boards ;)
So if we could get at least 1 A4000 dead desktop board with a dead daughter board. this would be nice.

Is that ok enough for the inquiry minds ;)

Try asking AmigaKit.  I gave them 3 A1200 motherboards for spares/repair a few back and they were unable to fix at least one, maybe two, of them so they may still have them there somewhere.

Not to derail this topic, but if the dead A4000 motherboard is to be used to make fresh A4000 cases, could I ask for four (4) if, of course, that idea come to fruition?

We could think of any kind of arrangement, but not on the number of cases i'm affraid ;)

Simply said we don't have any provisional costs at this time, we're still studying and R&D.

But if you have a dead board, you'd be really handy. And you rest assured that we'll get back to you once the project is made possible, with anything we can get for you.

Latest infos:
- As of now, we're ok regarding Amiga 1200 boards. Two gentlemen helped us already.

Just don't replicate the 4000D cases, they are too damned cramped...
Make it deeper for starters so a regular DVD device fits in.

There's no way we're willing to replicate the 4000D Desktop case, thats for sure.
